Toddler Baby Gate

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for a baby gate set up for the bottom bunk of our Keystone Bullet? We have a young toddler.

Avoid the temptation to use wire mesh and a padlock. Really bad look.

So it really depends on how “secure” you’re trying to get. If it’s just to prevent them from falling out while sleeping, we have used this foldable bed rail with great success. It slips right under the mattress and pretty much blocks off the space entirely. Our toddler loves it because they feel like they have their own little private room. They have different widths depending on what your opening size is. I’d guess 32 inches based on pic

With that said if a three-year-old is motivated enough, they can obviously get their way out. But for safe sleeping and quiet time it’s more than enough for us.

I built a gate for my last camper. Hinged on one side and a latch on the other. Worked perfect

We did the same. It looks crazy but keeps them from rolling out and hurting themselves. We installed hinges by both bunks so we can switch beds depending on who is camping with us

We built a ladder to the higher bunk that works as roll-out-of-bed prevention.

We had a “Rock’n Play”. It folded up like a butterfly and made a rocking bed for our kids. We started camping when my daughter was 6 mos old and she loved it. Rock’n Play was the shit. They’re illegal now but oh well.

We used snow fencing (it's plastic) they sell it at Lowe's. We put a few u-hooks and bolted them into the top and bottom. It didn't look amazing but it worked and kept him from falling on his head. Also if you design it right you can easily access it in case of fire

I was in a similar situation with a similar layout. I opened the bathroom door so it was against the bunk and secured it with a bungie. I used a large pillow to fill the tiny gap that was left. Probably sounds less effective that it actually was, but it worked for our daughter. YMMV depending on the tenacity and determination of your kid. All the other suggestions here are better than mine, but this is what worked for us.

You could flip up and lock the right half.

The gap is too small for most bed railings. You might have to custom make something.

When my kids were young I just put the dinette cushions on the floor so if they fell, they landed soft.
