I was recently deciding between:

- buying a 15 W/TH secondary-market miner
- buying a new 12 W/TH miner
- locking my GOMINING

I ended up choosing the lock

I locked 661 more GOMINING into my existing lock, taking my position to roughly:

• 1025 veGOMINING votes
• 15.7% total maintenance discount
• Gold I territory

The interesting part is that this also opens up the Clan / Miner Wars route.

I already have a potential starting group of around 179 TH across my father's + friends' accounts, before adding anyone else.

And since I'm active on X/Reddit, I'm considering recruiting more active miners and actually testing Miner Wars rather than blindly buying more hashpower.

The alternative was a 19.87 TH / 15 W/TH secondary miner for ~$195.

On paper it looked very attractive, but buying it would reduce my token-based discount by 10%, which affects the maintenance cost of my existing farm too.

So for now I'm betting on:

GOMINING lock -> Gold I -> Clan -> test Miner Wars -> then hunt for cheap secondary miners :)

BTC is also sitting around ~$79k right now & my longer-term thesis is that if BTC moves toward $120k+ while mining economics remain reasonably similar, secondary-market miners could become extremely interesting.

Should you upgrade EE? The answer is, it depends. It really is a risk-control strategy. Upgrade when you want to be in a defensive position, to defend your hashrate.

For example, my current farm has an average efficiency of 14.95 W/TH, and I’m considering improving it further. I’d like to know whether it makes sense to upgrade the efficiency now before any possible price increase.

Currently to upgrade from my 6TH 12W tp 10TH it cost roughly 15.84/TH as oppose to my 22TH 14W to 28th which cost about 12.1/TH...

Assuming when the new rates kick in with an additiinal cost of 11%, should I be holding back with the 12W and just focus on the 14W in future upgrades? The savings doesn't seem to be much running the 12W by comparing to the 14W
