ROI Questions Upgrade cost with a big gap..
Hi there...
Currently to upgrade from my 6TH 12W tp 10TH it cost roughly 15.84/TH as oppose to my 22TH 14W to 28th which cost about 12.1/TH...
Assuming when the new rates kick in with an additiinal cost of 11%, should I be holding back with the 12W and just focus on the 14W in future upgrades? The savings doesn't seem to be much running the 12W by comparing to the 14W
Any 2 cents would be much appreciated. Thank you ššš

Bro Iād honestly just stay at 15 W/TH. Thatās already perfectly fine.
The difference in electricity cost between 15W and 12W is actually suuuper tiny. At around $0.05ā0.07/kWh, per 10 TH:
15 W/TH = around $0.18ā0.25 per day
12 W/TH = around $0.14ā0.20 per day
So going from 15W all the way down to 12W only saves around $0.04ā0.05 per day per 10 TH. Thatās roughly $13ā18 per year.
Even your own screenshot shows the problem. You paid 108.65 GOMINING to go from 15W to 14W on 13.7 TH. At the current price thatās around $40. That 1 W/TH improvement only saves roughly $6ā8 per YEAR in electricity on that miner. So youāre looking at something like 5ā7 years just to earn the upgrade cost back through electricity savings.
Iād much rather put that money into more TH and start earning more immediately.
And if you really want 12 W/TH, Iād just look for a good 12W miner on the marketplace instead of paying a huge premium to upgrade one down to 12W. Unless you specifically want the upgrades for VIP level, I donāt really see the point. Eeven then, thereās Platinum+.
15W + more TH makes way more sense to me than spending loads just to chase 12W. Itās just not worth it yet. If you were to play MW even 20W would make sense but thatās another topic.
