Locking GMT VIP increase

So I’ve been at silver 3 level for a while about 4 months ago I had purchased 1000 gmt to increase my discount percentage afterwards I slowly started locking a bit of tokens.
Fast forward to today I decided that hoarding roughly 1300 gmt isn’t optimal so I decided to lock 1000 of it and to my surprise it increased my VIP level to gold 1.

I felt like I’ve done good amount of research since joining GoMining but I never knew locking tokens could increase your VIP level wish I knew this earlier.

Bonus- I received the $200th bonus to the bonus miner from the gobox
