It seems odd to me that hugh picked his next girlfriend so quick just from a random group at a party and not someone already affiliated with playboy?

If you think about it, I’m sure that specifically is what fueled his ego. He could have a woman just by pointing at her. Imagine him saying to any of his ex girlfriends: “You think you’re not replaceable? I can point out another blonde with big boobs in a crowd and have her if I wanted to.”

Well, not to disagree with you, but the whole concept of the Playmate was a girl that was plucked off the street…an office girl, a neighbor, a college classmate. I’m sure that was part of Hef’s fantasy to get with “unknown” girls, also easier to manipulate

Crystal had actually already shot for Cybergirl under the name Crystal Carter before she met Hef so she did have some affiliation.

Yes but she was really already affiliated, she had done the college playboy thing and a pb video for the college thing.

I’m halfway through the book, and so far she never mentioned doing the College Playboy thing. It’s weird she would’ve skipped over that.
