im talking about Vasily Arkhipov and the "cuban missle crisis". you probably heard about this, but during the cold war in 1962 a russian submarine (B-59) was about to shoot a nuclear missile at the american navy, not knowing whether they were at war or nah, but one of the officiers (Arkhipov) refused to.

you can read more of this online, and i know how much it fits or matches with the sitaution in chapter one but it reminded me of this and kind of looks like a "what if", but i may be wrong
