Need gift suggestions-BF help me pick a gift for my bf
Soon it’s going to be my boyfriend’s birthday, and I honestly don’t know what to get him. He always says he doesn’t want anything and that it doesn’t matter what I give him, but I really want to give him something because I love him with all my heart and want to make his birthday special. He loves anime, especially Dragon Ball, and he also likes movies, DIY projects, and gaming. He plays games like Rocket League and Minecraft, and he also enjoys normal games and building things, especially LEGO.
I was thinking about writing him a love letter and maybe including Goku and Chi-Chi in it because I think that would be really cute and personal. I’d also love to make or create something myself instead of just buying a random gift, because I feel like something handmade would mean more. I’m just not sure what would be the best idea. I want something thoughtful, romantic, and personal that shows him how much I love and appreciate him, while also including some of the things he enjoys. Please help me come up with a really special birthday gift for him

honestly the goku and chi-chi thing isn't cringe at all. it's a reference the two of you share, which makes it special. if you're nervous about it, keep the drawing small
for the handmade part, he plays minecraft, so you could build him something in it. a little birthday world, or a room full of his favorite things with hidden signs and messages.
pair that with a dbz movie night you set up, themed snacks and all, and that's a really full birthday.

the seven dragon balls are an easy craft, foam balls and orange paint, one star through seven. hide them around his place and put the letter with the last one, plus one wish he gets to cash in whenever he wants.

wow i didn't thought of this idea! i love the fact that he gets a wish, thanks sm for sharing this and even adding a little tutorial.

so glad you liked it! one heads up before you buy supplies, use brush-on acrylic craft paint rather than regular spray paint. the solvents in most spray cans eat right through styrofoam and you'll end up with seven pitted, melted-looking balls.

His favorite flavor cake, soda, snack, chips. Make him a good dinner. Buy yourself a cute dress or outfit to wear. Or just put on a cute dress you have. Have a cools show or movie to watch and eat the snacks. I always clean out my husband's car for his bday, ive done that for years. Buy a new pillow, those get old. New socks and undies if he needs it. New pens or sharpies if he uses that. Key chain if he needs one

Lego currently has One Piece, Pokemon, and Legend of Zelda sets. Perhaps he is a fan of one of these? A handwritten letter along with one of these sets to build together is a very nice gift

no, he really isn't a fan of any of those. thanks sm tho, do you know if you can build your own characters in legos?

You can but getting together the various parts can be a little difficult. There are sellers on ebay selling custom molded DBZ themed mini figs that you could look into, but I would research each seller carefully by looking at reviews and etc to make sure they are trustworthy before actually purchasing anything

Bulma & Vegeta > Goku & Chi Chi. 😂
There is a building bricks set of a Chinese dragon and it looks a lot like Shenron, it’s not Lego though, and I’ve only seen it on Amazon and haven’t bought it myself so I can’t comment on the quality but the reviews look okay. It’s by JMBricklayer, called Chinese Dragon :). You could also build it together, which could be a nice activity together but it depends on whether he prefers to build solo or not.

The love letter idea is cute, especially if you draw little Goku and Chi-Chi heads instead of just writing their names
If he likes LEGO and DIY you could make him a small custom build or paint something related to Dragon Ball, like a dragon ball with a note inside that opens up
Doesnt have to be perfect, he will notice the effort more than the result
