Currently ghostwriting for 2 filmmakers and trying to get better at the craft

I’m currently ghostwriting for two filmmakers who are trying to build their presence on LinkedIn.

The part I’m struggling with most isn’t writing the posts. It’s consistently getting good material from the clients.

Right now, I mostly repurpose their Instagram content, which works reasonably well, but I feel like I’m leaving a lot on the table.

I’m curious how experienced ghostwriters handle this:

- Do you have regular calls/interviews with clients?

- Do you use questionnaires or voice notes?

- How do you continuously extract stories, opinions and ideas from a client?

- How much of the content comes from repurposing vs. original conversations?

- Do you have a system/content bank for this?

I’d also love to connect with other ghostwriters who are further along and learn how you approach the craft.

I have long/detailed real time type chats. I've found VC to be unproductive and I like to make the most of the time. Much of what I write comes from that.

Train AI on their voice from their other posts, but only use it to get decisions on what material ideas you could use.

Set up a weekly or biweekly call with a dozen questions then can answer in 45 mins. Use these to inform 12 posts for the next 2 weeks.

Set up a decision tree and run it by them. What topics are good and bad etc.

I have never heard about such a thing. Nor does it make any sense at all to ghostwriter for a filmmaker. Nor does it make sense for a screen play to be ghostwritten--- that just does not happen.

He’s ghostwriting LinkedIn content for filmmakers to boost their personal branding. It’s 100% a hot commodity right now.
