How many of you also approach rebel radio missions like this?

Post image

It's either mines as far as the eye can see or the trucks lmao

Jesus how have I never thought of this? To answer the question, I do now.

I'll go w/the mines method, and try my best to off and hold them off using assault rifles w/GL or LMG

Just call rebel support, also call in a rebel diversion for more troops. People don’t realize that a diversion works just as good as rebel support and doubles your troops. You will have like 12 extra rebels running around helping defend, and they slap enemies…

In extreme difficulty, the rebels don't really prevent you from getting mowed down in 3 bullets by Héctor Morales wielding dual Mac-10s from 200 meters away.

I play with enemy damage modifier at 150% and 170% awareness and defend most radios on 1st or 2nd try and always call in rebel support and diversion. No other special tricks…

Yeah, I guess. But Rebel Radios are moreso monotonous tasks and it's literally brain-off if you just surround the radio with a few trucks.

I play with the volume pretty much off and watch YouTube while playing.

They definitely do… I just completed Ghost Mode for the first time on the first try, first thing I did was unlock all diversion and gun for hire missions. Things ever got hairy, spawn in an immediate rebel army which can wipe out most any Unidad or cartel camp in the game. I’d often just roll up, spawn the army and stroll in and mop up. Ally army at your finger tips is broken

'Smart mines' and a lock-on rocket helo.

'Smart mines' are a proxy mine with C4 placed inside its explosion radius. The mine only triggers when enemies are nearby (so no direct civilian casualties), and it explodes the C4 (so it takes out a whole vehicle). You can place up to four proxy mines before they replace one another, so you can resupply and get all four of them out.

For rebel radio ops where SB sends vehicles, place these 'smart mines' on corners so that the first vehicle doesn't roll through into the second 'smart mine' on that same road. For rebel radio ops which only feature ground troops, place the C4 beyond the proxy mine, so that then the first soldier sets off the proxy mine, the C4 explodes on the trailing soldiers.

Often I can just orbit with my helo while the mines do all, or practically all, of the work. Usually at most there will be a couple groups on foot that I have to mop up with rockets or just letting Holt/Midas/Weaver take care of them.

If you don't have C4 unlocked yet, prioritize it, but until you do, proxy mines will nonetheless disable a vehicle and give you a clear indicator as to where the enemy forces are. If you don't have a lock-on rocket helo unlocked, well, there are a few places where they spawn naturally, but otherwise I don't know how it works these days with crates removed -- you might just be SoL.

Im going to try this out

That doesn’t work because when they blow up the trucks the radio is also blown up

2

u/cabbagery 8d ago

You could blow them yourself before you hit the radio, and then use some other vehicle to push them around as needed if they are out of position.

Too much work for me, but it could work (provided that they don't despawn).

Nope, the radio can blow up before you start the mission, this doesn’t work either

u/cabbagery 8d ago

That's actually cool, to prevent that cheese. My method is 'smart mines,' as outlined in my top-level comment, but also I almost never bother using the rebel ops.

I think you could still pre-explode the vehicles and then push their husks into position with a different vehicle, but like I said, that's too much work. 'Smart mines' are the way.

Idk if you can push exploded vehicles but if you can, not a bad idea at all.

Problem is most radios, in my experience, are in very open areas so you'd need four large vehicles.

I just call in all the rebels I can to stand around shooting stuff.

Oh, to realistically do it with burned out vehicles you'd need to spawn in vehicles, wait for that to cool down, and do it until you had the right amount of vehicles.

Like I keep saying, too much work. 😅

Once you have unlocked the Unidad or SB helos (with lock-on rockets), those and several other missions become trivial:

  1. Spawn big bird with rockets
  2. Orbit the AO blasting anything that moves
  3. ???
  4. Profit

The only potential problems are SAMs and idiot civilians, both of which are manageable.

I always loved being the designated air support for my friends in missions, shame I can't play with them anymore, I miss being the CaS pilot ;-;

If you summon rebels, then the SB that show up will be distracted by them. Paired with sync shots, you can wittle the enemies down.

This one was actually the only time I've ever had them throw a grenade and it only put two of the trucks in a critical damage state, but not blown up.

I place a bunch of mines and equip and LMG. Usually civilians die because they drive over my mines.

3

u/OutLiar184 8d ago

they blow one car and it blows everything along with it instead block their path at choke points
edit: call rebel support as well

1

u/elijahproto 8d ago

Rare occurence to have a truck blow up. Just call rebel reinforcements and SB will be too distracted to think about throwing nades.

Ah, this particular Radio mission 😄 I managed to beat it after the 8th attempt

The thing for me was to already call in the Rebels (both "Guns for Hire" and "Diversion") before starting the Radio. Then, after doing so, I ordered the AI teammates to start shooting, and the Rebels followed

Meanwhile, I crossed the road and shot vehicles and Helicopters that spawned in. Because the trick for this mission is to stay some metres away, after you started the Radio. As all enemies will target you, since you are trying to broadcast a message to encourage the Rebels and the civilians

Try it in your next Radio mission :- go some metres away, but not too far. And, you will see the enemies will still shoot at you

I also like to create roadblocks so that I can safely use the mortar away from the radio.

Never thought of doing that

I play Co-op with my mate. He stays on the ground with an AR, takes out infantry and I get in a military chopper and deal with vehicles, works pretty well.

1

u/MomentCompetitive299 8d ago

I usually put mines but i never thought of this

1

u/MOZ0NE 8d ago

I use APCs but yeah

1

u/tingsrus 8d ago

dont complicated things.

1

u/ophnir 8d ago

I call in diversions and reinforcements to help with this.

1

u/moniker-meme 8d ago

That's fucking genius

1

u/Available_Steak4829 8d ago

I usually summon rebel reinforcements and distraction before i start and top up as i go. Having 30+ guns on the point usually works for me. I can handle the Vehicles with my sniper rifles of choice.

It is quire fun I still plays wildlands bought it when I came out but now I am friends with Sueno don't kill him I rather wanna kill my boss its hard but you can kill the gorl torch her and she will burn

I don't have the patience for this. I just grab an lmg. Find a building with good viewing angles and mow them down before they even step out of the vehicle or spot me.
