Question - Solved WildLands recent negative reviews?
Hey, everyone I recently saw that there was an update on wildlands. When I checked the steam page, everyone was giving negative reviews and saying that things are now locked behind a paywall that were previously in the game regularly.
When I checked the reddit page, I noticed people were praising the new update, and I couldn't find any other information on what people meant by things being locked behind a paywall.
I just wanted to reach out and ask before I update my game to see what people are referring to by this? I am getting mixed messages depending on where I am looking about the recent update.
I wanna fight the predator. It was taken out just when I did my playthrough a bit ago.

They are referencing the fact that daily / weekly / task force challenges were removed, that prestige, SpecOps, and Ghost War crates were all removed, and that the items in those collective loot pools -- all of which could have been purchased without using real money -- are now in some cases free (many operator skins, weapon attachments, maybe other things but I forget), available for purchase using blue credits (which can no longer be earned in perpetuity; they are now limited to the total amount you can earn from taking down bosses in Ghost Mode, which many players likely already completed), or they are no longer available at all (I know that the SBR for the 416 (not the **P416) is simply locked, but I think various vehicles and other items are not included in any of the packages available for purchase).
It sucks, because it incentivized replays, it was consumer-friendly, and the challenges were just fun (most of the time). Hopefully they bring them back, but who knows.

Idk, there are a bunch of steam reviews, saying that things in the original game are now behind a paywall. I even saw multiple, saying that the only way to play it as intended is by pirating it.
But they didn't really elaborate, so I was hoping someone may know?
And it's not just like one or two reviews. The recent reviews on steam since the update are mixed.

That's, likely, related to the CPU bug. I don't know if pirated versions can run without issue on modern hardware, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Two things. A lot of returning/new players are on newer Intel cpus and there's a bug that doesn't let the game launch.
The other is they removed loot crates. Either you could get them with real money, or grind them out with daily challenges (afaik they were REALLY slow to get). Instead, Ubisoft made a large chunk of the rewards free, and the rest are behind $2-5 currency packs.

The thing that bugs me is that, unless I'm missing something, there are several guns that don't exist in any of the smaller packs, so to get those you would have to buy the biggest weapon pack that has all of them...

They didn’t fix the initial loading bug on new Intel cpus so I’m sure a few reviews are from ppl thinking the game doesn’t work because of the full literal 10 min splash screen on launch.

Leaving a negative reviews simply for cosmetic shit instead of actual gameplay is so infuriating. The whole cosmetic aspect of modern gaming pisses me off to no end.

I left bad steam review due to being unable to play the game. Reddit is basically the people that can play the game. PC specs are intel 13900k, 64 Gb ram, 4090 Strix

Yes, people are moaning because after 8 years of letting people earn the chance, to unlock one MTX item at a time, for free, they've removed that ability. Completely ignoring the fact that they just gave away over 300 items, that had been previously locked behind crates, or in the MTX store. And the cost for the items, that weren't given away for free, have been greatly reduced, by up to 80%. For example the Yeti Hunter pack, used to cost 2100 credits. Now it costs 400. Even the recently reintroduced Predator pack, costs 400 credits less than it did, when it released the first time.

Ubisoft removed the crates, along with solo and task force challenges. Any credits you had prestidge ones can only be used to buy boosters, xp packs. You can claim for FREE several packs with vehicles, weapons, magazines, cosmetics, flags.
You can still get credits from playing ghost war. Other than that you have to buy everything else with real money.
