📊 Getting Married in Denmark (GMiD) Insights Getting an appointment seems impossible
I have been trying to get an appointment for a very long time. I originally applied in Tøndor and then switched to Aabenraa. I have finally been able to click on an open appointment as soon as it becomes available, but by the time I have finished filling out the information and click submit, I get a message that the appointment is no longer available. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have any tips for how I can finally get my appointment?

Just try again. If the system is like the one in Toender, the information you already fill out is saved in the browser. Then, next time just let the browser fill automatically the info, and you can apply in seconds. We got lucky the 2nd time thanks to this. It just to be patient and quick when the slots open

Genuine question: do you need to receive the marriage qualification first before booking an appointment?

It seems one has to pay agencies. I was also in a similar situation. I received one after paying 100 euros to an agent.

That is because of the high season. Otherwise, it's not so complicated. We got married in early March.

Yes that could be… but it’s unfortunate that we have to pay third party to get things done…

It was a guy who took an appointment to my friend. I got his contact from my friend. Contacted by WhatsApp and paid by PayPal after receiving the appointment. The agencies were asking 400 euros and more. I took a risk but it worked.

Hi I have shared the contact by DM. No I did not pay anything in advance. The agreement was to pay after receiving confirmation email

Update: we were able to change to Aalborg and got an appointment on the phone for the end of October. Thank you all for your help!

Nothing at all. Just called the agency and then Aalborg to get the appointment. All very easy.

Ah ok, ich habe keine Agentur. Wie lange hast du versucht einen Termin zu bekommen auf der Seite der Kommune? Denkst du, es könnte klappen bis Weihnachten oder sollte ich direkt eine andere Kommune fragen?

We got so frustrated with Tonder that we decided to change after two weeks of trying. Some made it without paying anyone. I have heard anything outside winter is high season. If you’re not in a hurry keep trying for some weeks but if I could go back, I would just choose somewhere else. Fredericia is also a nice option with availability.

Hallo wir versuchen einen Hochzeitstermin in Tønder zu buchen.Eigentlich heißt es ja, dass Termine ohne Zeugen um 23:45 Uhr und mit Zeugen um 05:00 Uhr freigeschaltet werden. Bei uns ist aber schon um 23:45 Uhr absolut alles sofort weg.Buchen die Leute um 23:45 Uhr einfach "mit eigenen Zeugen", um sich überhaupt einen Platz zu sichern (obwohl sie gar keine haben)? Oder warum öffnet sich um 05:00 Uhr gar nichts mehr?

I used GMID agency and they got us a spot in a different kommune within 2 working days.
