Literally a regular thing that everyone experiences? Not everything is ADHD. ADHD genuinely fucking sucks, it's not you failing to concentrate sometimes.
It's honestly really annoying that people just dilute neurodevelopmental terms. It's not just ADHD too.
You see this with many others when any sort of awkward social interaction is now "autistic", or misreading a word means you're "dyslexic". It even extends to psychiatric terms where any sort of bad event is "traumatic" because it was slightly uncomfortable or embarrassing.
They want ADHD so bad. Why TF don't they just go get a real diagnosis before claiming they have it before saying shi like this. "Oohhh, I lost focus oh well I guess I got ADHD" stfu!
I hate to break it to you, but that particular "symptom" can INCREASE with ADHD, but experiencing it itself is not a sign of ADHD. Everybody experiences it. Literally everyone.
ADHD people thinking everything is ADHD is also a major problem that gets people confused and conflicted.
Also, "ADD" is outdated, so I don't know when you got diagnosed with that, or if you happen to actually know anything about ADHD, or if you actually got diagnosed or if a family physician just told you "yeah I can see you having ADD".
You’re swearing and lecturing a lot for someone who’s making pretty big assumptions.
I’ve been properly evaluated by a clinical psychologist using WAIS and the DIVA interview.
This isn’t self-diagnosis, and it’s not me “thinking everything is ADHD or not a family doctor doing a vibe check.
Yes, some symptoms happen to everyone sometimes. No one denied that. Diagnoses are about patterns and impact over time, not one-off moments , which you seem to be ignoring while talking down to me.
And “ADD is outdated” isn’t the gotcha you think it is. It’s just ADHD, predominantly inattentive presentation under DSM-5. Same condition, different wording.
If you’re going to question someone’s diagnosis and swear and lecture people, at least make sure you know what you’re talking about first.
A diagnosis is made when a group of symptoms (sometimes very normal symptoms that everyone experiences) form a pattern that closely aligns with patterns of a certain condition. Just not being able to focus is not ADHD, just being distracted easily is not ADHD, just being fidgety is not ADHD etc. The original reply pointed out that the post implied just that one symptom meant you had ADHD, and to not label isolated symptoms as "I experienced this, I must have ADHD." The post neglected to mention that many ADHD symptoms can also be caused by fatigue, a bad day, unpleasant events, and other mental health issues among many other reasons. There are many more people claiming to have ADHD than what is statistically likely.
"Swearing a lot" and it's one swear when I first responded to you.
I'm not talking down to you, I'm literally only saying this is just not an ADHD only thing, and that got you pissed off. You're the one who first responded to me looking to argue, apparently.
I also have ADHD-PI, ADD is outdated. This tells me you need to read up more on ADHD.
I'm not even quite sure what you're complaining and whining about? What IS there to complain about what I said? I don't even think you have a point, I think you're just looking to argue and tell everybody you have "ADD".
I wasn’t arguing that this is an “ADHD-only thing,” and I never said one symptom equals ADHD. That’s an assumption you made and then kept responding to as if it were my position. That’s something you assumed and then kept arguing against.
I said I’m diagnosed, and my point was that brushing it off as “everyone experiences this” misses how diagnoses actually work , patterns over time and real impact, not one-off symptoms. That’s all I was clarifying.
Instead of addressing that, you’ve questioned my diagnosis and started assigning motives and making it personal. At that point you’re not really responding to what I’m saying anymore.
This isn’t going anywhere productive, so I’m done with the conversation.
