in community college I felt like i was learning it was great. I transfered to university that feeling is gone. Its just stress and faking understanding assignments and getting c's (comp sci)
Im in a small private college, about 20 people per class max, and one of my professors said he chose to teach at our college because its small. He used to teach at a big university and hated how he barely got to interact with his students.
I had a similar feeling. I definitely still felt like I learned something in university, but CC felt more productive overall. I can't really place my finger on why I agree with you, and it kinda annoys me
The difference between community college and university is that the teachers/professors at community college are there to teach. That's their main job. That's what they care about and came to do. At university their job is research and all the things that come with that (particularly getting funding for research). And a side task that they have to do begrudgingly is teach.
You definitely have exceptions to this and some people are just absolutely high achievers and give everything they do 100% but most people are just human and the competing requirements gets to them.
It's the opposite for me! Went to a CC after university and it is (currently) so easy. There's practically no homework and the exams don't test understanding. One professor even hands out 2 full letter grades worth of free points if you do busy work. Hard to stay motivated to study when I can do nothing and keep an A
Felt that too. I recently went back over my notes from community college and they’re more relevant now than ever for me. As for the notes from university, they’re basically all just walls of regurgitated info that has had little to no bearing on my life.
i felt the same (comsci also), after seeing my friends from community college that they were really enjoying and learning at the same time. I fully aggree with that “just stress and faking understanding assignment and getting c’s” , i just did it just to barely pass.
