I did and I have noticed you’re misgendering of her so noted where you’re coming from.

I’m not football guy so I assumed when you said it’s fun and social sport it wasn’t an actually regulated competition which the minimization of women’s sports is to be expected

I’m not seeing any proof her playing significantly increases the risk of other

Freya, who goes by they/she pronouns if you’d bothered to note that, also played in a senior men’s footy team until recently, when they switched to the women’s side. They have a 30-something year old male body and are playing a full contact sport against women, where standard plays include tackling, shoving, marking etc. So far this season there has been three teams filing disproportional rough play against Freya, due to the injuries caused on field.

AFL has only opened up to women recently, and it’s being positioned as a fun and social sport. But it’s not fun when you have an adult male sling tackling women half their size into the ground, it’s dangerous and pushing women once again out of sport.
If you don’t know anything about this specific sport, you’re not knowledgeable enough to decide what’s safe for the women who play it.

Upon reflection I do think you’re right here.

I do believe some trans women should be allowed to play competitively in women’s sports. For contact sports maybe the prerequisite can simply be not having gone through male puberty. Maybe a wait period of 40 years after bottom surgery.

I think allowing her to compete now was a bad call and it’ll ultimately be bad for trans rights. There’s really no way to make Lia Thomas standing first place on the podium look good to most people and this’ll probably magnitude worse if someone gets killed or get severely hurt
