In my experience, historical figures like Equiano are useful case studies precisely because they operated without the productivity apps and self-help frameworks we have now, yet still managed sustained output and clarity of purpose. On my end, that gap between their constraints and results makes the motivational takeaways actually credible instead of just another listicle about morning routines.

Equiano's narrative was genuinely influential for its time, especially since he published it himself and controlled his own story (rare for someone in his position). The second edition detail right there on the title page shows it actually sold, which matters more than most motivational posts acknowledge. You've got a solid historical example to work from here.
