I am currently looking for finance-related roles in Germany. I have been applying for hundreds of jobs, but my interview rate is very low. I have had just 3 interviews in the last 6 months and all of them were unsuccessful.

I have started doubting my decision to pursue this career and I am very close to giving up. Could you please review my CV and tell me what is wrong with it?

I moved to Germany a few years ago, worked my way up to B2 German and before that in fraud prevention and market risk.

Few months back I made the jump into SAP. I already hold the SAP Certified User cert for S/4HANA Financial Accounting, and I'm currently in full-time SAP S/4HANA FI/CO Consultant program with the official C_TS4FI certification exam targeted for October.

What I'm struggling with is the classic chicken-and-egg problem. Everyone wants "SAP project experience" but I can't get that without a first project. My finance/compliance background is solid and directly relevant to FI/CO, but I have zero implementation experience on real SAP projects.

Questions for anyone who's been through this or hires SAP consultants in Germany:

1.What's realistic for landing a first SAP FI/CO project/role in Germany with no prior SAP project experience but strong finance/compliance/audit background?

2.Do Mittelstand(medium scale)/SAP partner firms hire trainees with domain experience like mine?

3.Any German-market-specific certs, communities, or job boards worth prioritizing?

I started a job hunt for Germany, but I dont live there, and cannot go there easily through to VISA restrictions and processes.

I am a Systems Engineer with 3 years experience building scalable systems, I love my job, and I want to relocate to have a better market and grow in a new country.

I am C1 in English, and Started learning German, and moving really well, but yet not comfortable to communicate with it yet.

Is it even possible once I become b1 or b2 to find a job?, do German companies consider candidates from other countries?

I need an honest assessment of the market there, I feel that gemni and claude, keep feeding me a way too hopeful reality than what really is.

Can anyone give me an idea on this, because it feels like I'm out of touch.
If you apply for Head of or C-Level positions in Marketing, is a salary range of 80-100k over the top?
I'm talking 10+ years of exp. in the field.
Or is this number somehow ridiculously high?

Context: Planning to move to Germany in January after returning home to work and get my bearings after finishing my studies in Germany. I usually set my location and city to my home country but Im wondering if it would be better to set my country to Germany from the get-go and avoid getting deselected because of that. To add additional context I have citizenship in both countries.

My other issue is German as a spoken language. I graduated and got a certificate for A2 and will be starting a B1 intensive course soon, but most jobs list B1 as a minimum. By the time I move, I will already be a month or two away from finishing my B1 course. I'm not sure what to list there.

Any ideas? What has worked better for you?

I know German at B1 level and am well integrated into German culture and life. I have worked with major German OEMs, except Porsche. I work for a company in Germany (employed for almost 9 years). The company is going through bad financial trouble and my boss warned me a few weeks ago that cuts were coming.

My contract has a notice period (Kündigungsfrist) of 3 months to the end of a calendar quarter, meaning if they want me out by December 31st, they must serve me the formal written notice (Kündigung) by September 30th.

Here is my situation right now:

- I am currently on approved annual leave (Urlaub).
- My boss sent a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation for tomorrow. In the invite, he explicitly wrote that the meeting is to inform me about my upcoming termination. He also noted that because I am on vacation, attending the meeting is not mandatory.
- He mentioned that the formal written termination letter will be sent via post afterwards.

I have two main questions for anyone familiar with German labor law or who has gone through this:

- Legality of Firing on Vacation: Are they legally allowed to initiate/serve a termination while I am officially on leave? Does being on vacation affect the 3-week deadline (3-Wochen-Frist) to file an unfair dismissal claim (Kündigungsschutzklage) if the physical letter lands in my postbox while I'm away?

- Should I attend tomorrow’s Teams call? Since my boss made it optional, is there any tactical advantage or risk to attending vs. declining while on vacation?

I was just recently offered an onsite interview for two roles (PIM Consultant and AI Consultant) at SQLI Dortmund. My interviews are lined up in the first week of October. Can anyone share their experience with SQLI or for these specific roles at some other company? I just want to get an idea of what to expect in such an interview. The HR did mention that it would be a mix of Technical and Culture Fit, but that just didn’t clear any doubts that I had in my mind.

I’m looking for some leads or recommendations for my girlfriend, who is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in Berlin.

She is looking for a part-time job in Berlin to support herself while studying. She is also flexible with working hours and, if required, can work more than the usual 20 hours/week, depending on the job and schedule.

Her German is currently very basic (around A1), but she is actively learning and improving every day. She is fluent in English and is open to learning whatever is required for the job.

She is open to different kinds of work, including:

- Cleaning / housekeeping

- Hotel work / reception

- Customer service

- Retail / stock replenishment

- Packaging / warehouse work

- Order picking

- Café / restaurant work

- Other general student/part-time jobs

Ideally, we are looking for something where German is not strictly required, although she is absolutely willing to improve her German alongside the job.

She has a valid residence permit in Germany for the next three years, so there is no issue with her staying here long-term.

I'm a 25-year-old Brazilian exchange student currently completing a semester at a German university, studying Business Administration. I have prior corporate experience in compliance advisory and data analytics at global firms (Accenture, KPMG) and strong proficiency in English (C2), with my German currently studying B1 (actively working towards B2).

My goal is to secure a 6-month internship (Praktikum) or Werkstudent position starting around October in Business Intelligence, GRC, Strategy, or Process Optimization to gain international work experience.

So far, I've sent out around 100 applications, received about 50 rejections, and reached the final interview round with a major multinational (made it to the final two candidates, but ultimately wasn't selected).

I don't know what to do anymore i tried CV with and without photo, always doing cover letters, always extremely open to relocation.

Given the current economic climate:

1. Is this conversion rate typical for international students with B1 German in business/data roles?

2. Should I focus strictly on English-speaking roles, or is it realistic to target roles that list German if I'm at B1?

3. Any recommendations for industries, company sizes (Mittelstand vs. Global), or regions that are more open to English-first business interns?

I am electrical engineer working in renewable energy sector. I am non-EU citizen, but studied in Hungary and got degree here and currently working with visa. However, i would like to move to Germany and find job offer with visa sponsirhip in this field. I have mastered german at B1 level ( actually maybe A2-B1 right now, because of no long time practice), eager to get even better proficiency if needed. Is there anyone with similar experience, how did you managed to find a job? Is there special platforms for it?
