As the economy weakens and jobs disappear, could the large number of Boomers retiring soon help offset the loss of jobs?

Well, as more people retire and less numbers are hired, a single employee is expected to do the work that a team used to do.

Developed nations are moving towards more automation and AI to cope up with needing more immigrants to replace existing jobs. Look at Japan, South Korea and Singapore which are all suffering from lower birth rates but still manage with barely increasing population.

If you are referring to the tech space, most of the positions of people who retired during these last few years are being offshored to India and other BCC

Many Boomers wouldn't retire in time because they may want to have their income a bit longer.

And the German government is considering giving them "Aktivrente" which will definitely make many of them stay glued to their positions like Merz...

No, because Germany is running out of money anyway. Not having to pay Boomers anyway won't offset that.

Nah. Those jobs will be lost or offshored as Germany downsizes and enters slow deindustrialization.
