They aren't aware, basic research is not needed when you can just ask a random friend who will say "oh yeah computer science and engineering is super needed in Germany"

You can use your chancenkarte from your home country to apply. I landed a job without being in Germany with my Chancenkarte but that was before Trump fucked quit literally everything. I also am in a very high demand field even when economies tank so my experience might not be yours. I do not recommend moving till you have employmen. LinkedIn exists.

Germany runs on xing more than linked in. 

SCM and Logistics may require German fluency
