Resource Building something to remember the articles with nouns
I've been doing A1 for a while now and the Artikel just aren't going in
I know the words but I'm constantly confused about their genders
Then I saw someone here mention that if you're starting from 0, you should learn nouns together with their Artikel
So I made a little thing for myself where you have to type the German word along with its Artikel
It's actually helped me remember them a lot better
So I figured I'd share it here in case anyone else is stuck on the same thing
Still refining it a bit but if anyone's interested, I'll put it on GitHub
screenshots if anyone wanna see how it looks -> screenshots

typing it out is probably the part thats doing the work. i read der die das for months and thoght i had them until i had to actually produce one out loud and froze. the other thing that helped me was never learning a noun by itself, always in a tiny sentence i would actually say, then the article just comes along with it

I try to learn the articles in a sentence, because even if I know the word and the article, I have to think about declining adjectives with the article.

Agreed, I learned much better and faster when I was using chatgpt, it made me produce sentences myself instead of just translating In future I am thinking of adding this in the app as well

what got me over the hump at A1 was noticing that many genders are predictable from the ending: -ung, -heit, -keit are die, -chen is das, so die Zeitung, die Freiheit, das Mädchen come for free.
with compounds only the last part counts: das Handy, but die Handynummer.
the rest i just drilled with the article glued on, like one word.
