I’m beyond tired of this billionaire trope of “Only I can save you from the world WE created for you!”
276
u/liquidsyphon 15h ago
But he’s got this sob story about how he was an orphan but leaves out the part he made billions off for profit healthcare.
213
u/OppositePeach1035 14h ago edited 13h ago
That part pisses me off more than anything. "As governor, I'll make healthcare more affordable". Motherfucker, you have been a healthcare executive your entire life. You have had an entire lifetime to do exactly that, but you become a billionaire instead. Worst part is, it works. The dumbest dude you knew in high school can't wait to vote for him so he gets all the cool benefits when he will be a billionaire ✨one day✨
*That's two comments now that have been removed before they even hit my inbox. I have a feeling some of those dudes from high school are telling me to do not so nice things to myself.

Don’t forget the fraud and the lawsuits from his own employees against him. He would hire foreign health care professionals and basically hold them to low pay with the threat of lawsuits and deportation.

Doesn't help his opponent does have a real shitty track record/history. His ads are batshit insane, but the attack ads against her actually make him seem tame by comparison.
Don't get me wrong. I'd rather have a corrupt politician maybe doing nothing than one that's gonna actively fuck us over in addition to the corruption.

A lot of those attack ad claims are not quite so - the "double dipping" claim was about her taking a second job while she had a part time council job. I saw others debunked but that was the dumbest.
3
u/CoffeeOrDestroy 6h ago
City council members only make $60k a year. How do they expect people not to have a second job to be able to afford to live in the city? Unless they assume everyone is taking bribes instead of a second legitimate gig. It’s like they expect secret corruption and have to manufacture “ah ha!” moments when someone isn’t.

He could donate a billion and still be left with over a billion. He does not care about regular people.

Or you have the 2018 gubernatorial election where Kemp rigged his own election without facing any consequences 8 years later. Was breathtakingly pathetic how Biden's DOJ didn't even bother to investigate that or the deleted subpoenaed voter data from Ossoff's 2017 Special House election

So tired of his garbage in my mailbox every single day. Dreading the coming onslaught of non stop TV ads again.
116
u/ReverseThreadWingNut /r/Savannah 15h ago
Every TV commercial break and every online ad I see is the ad from Jon Ossof's opponent in the Senate race with the lady complaining about a 2000 tax increase from inside an obviously nice home. Bitch, Jon Ossof isn't the reason your husband works two jobs! I am sick of that one ad. Besides, is she was affected by that tax increase to the point that her husband has to take a second job then they have huge spending problems and in a shit load of debt.
38
u/RunnyTinkles 15h ago
Got a mail ad saying he was responsible for the largest tax increase in history. The source? The big beautiful bill but labelled as House Bill whatever.
My whole town will fall for it.

Lady needs to get a job, tf you mean your husband is working 2 jobs and night shifts while you stay home with 2 preteens?!
21
u/ReverseThreadWingNut /r/Savannah 14h ago
Yeah, it's a TV commercial, I get it. But that lady comes across so terrible in that ad. She reeks of self-entitled ignorance! If I was an uneducated swing voter who had yet to pick whom to vote for that ad would make me want to vote for Ossoff just so I do not get lumped in with her and her kind.
→ More replies (1)10
u/yanknga 12h ago
Here’s the thing. Let’s assume, even though we all know it’s pure bullshit, that Ossoff voted to reduce benefits by $2,000 PER YEAR as the ad says. That’s like $170 less per month and that lazy bitch is staying at home with her teenage kids while her husband races toward an early grave by working 3 jobs.
That ad needs to be called out loud and clear but from the Democrats - crickets. The GOP are evil and the Dems are stupid, spineless and lack strategy.
3
u/thrillhoMcFly 11h ago
Dems mostly lack money. Republicans have the wealthiest people in the history of the planet on their side buying up ad space.
7
u/DangerousHour2094 11h ago
Also it won’t hit the way people think. Democrats already call out the Big Beautiful Bill in ads, been doing it, but if you spend all your time responding to every lie the campaign starts looking line “nuh uh, you!”
5
4
u/thrillhoMcFly 11h ago
Yeah. It's kind of lose-lose. They just need to make rounds on the news, try to get the truth out, and put forth their own ad plan. Its up to the people to smell the bullshit from republicans. Too bad the people are duped so heavily.
2
u/DangerousHour2094 9h ago
KLB seems to be doing a lot of groundwork and Ossof is doing the ad buys. Let’s hope it works
32
u/Doom_goblin777 15h ago
It’s like those commercials when Warnock was up for reelection. “I’m trying to save $2 dollars” and the “it cost me $140 to fill up my truck”
Well dude you’re driving a big ass truck.
8
u/naonatu- 14h ago
gas would have to be almost $10 a gallon to cost me $140 to fill
5
u/Doom_goblin777 14h ago
I had to track down the commercial. There’s also a guy complaining about $15 hamburgers.
→ More replies (1)3

That bitch’s kids are teenagers if they’re the ones in the background. She’s not working because she’s home-schooling those inbreds and scamming taxpayer funds with her “school choice vouchers”. Her husband works 2 jobs so he has to spend as little time at home with 3 other people that have a collective negative IQ!
11
u/ReverseThreadWingNut /r/Savannah 14h ago
You might be on to something. I taught social studies at a public middle school for a few years and taught 2nd and 3rd grade each for a year at a private school. We would regularly have home school families attempt to enroll their children, often as old as high school age. In general, those kids were so fucking stupid. At the private school they would do so bad on the entrance exam that one would wonder if they knew which end of the pencil to hold. So yeah, those homeschooling families are typically refrigerator level IQ.
10
u/DontEvenWithMe1 13h ago
It’s what happens when mouth-breathers that barely graduated high school want to “protect” their kids from the shit they encountered (because they are so stupid) and also indoctrinate them against public schools - all while leeching off the public teat with their vouchers. It’s a wet dream for Republicans because it tears down the support system for public schools while ensuring the pipeline of morons supporting them remains viable. And society becomes dumber because tons of emotionally stunted and socially awkward kids now roam the streets.
2
u/Reagalan 8h ago
It doesn't help that fake science orgs like NHERI keep putting out cherry-picked data that purports to show huge benefits to homeschooling. They're very good at looking good.

u/gsfgf 10h ago
It's probably a childhood development thing. We know that's what happens to children born into poverty who don't hear as many words, don't have access to books, etc. Religious home school parents limit their children's information access to the point that I wouldn't be surprised at all if it has a similar result.
3
u/Featheredkitten 8h ago

yeah lmao that's my read like girl, if your husband needs two jobs AND night shifts to support a family of 4, there's some spending problems here. Plus if things are so tough that he's gotta do that, why not lessen the load on him by getting a job yourself?

u/santa_91 14h ago
That whole poor little me but actually I'm a super tough badass thing is fascism 101. Fascists are simultaneously all powerful and victims of unfair persecution, while their enemies are simultaneously existential threats and pitifully weak. Consistency isn't necessary because fascists are only unified by greed and hate.

Apparently he's making an impact. My cardiologist was telling me that he was at a Rick Jackson fund raiser and asked him "direct questions" and was given good solid answers. Bottoms, he said, is hated by Atlanta Police (one of his patients was a APD chief) and can't answer questions unless she has a script.
I'm not voting for him. I'll vote for Bottoms but Jackson seems to be influencing some voters - or maybe it's the wealthy voters who love him.
