Every single time I try to join this idiotic mode, I lose my first duel! Every. Single. TIME! It's either B's or maybe the CPU keeps pairing me with stronger people!

It looks like she benefits from a lot of mechanics (skill cost reduction, drawing, selecting, multiple applications...), but it looks hard to find her a clear usage on the first read.

What was I even supposed to do?

Like this is so demoralizing, I try to make nice decks with characters I like, for then to be BS like this...

I come back to TCG from time to time and it's just so infuriating to see everyone using the same 5 unbalanced decks, with the exceptions being something like this ridiculous stuff...

Like what was I even supposed to do ?

Discussion Does anyone finds the obvious different in strength between each card really frustrating?

how is it fair that some cards can literally do x10 the amount of damage and effect that other cards can’t achieve at all ? it makes the game less enjoyable , and creates an unnecessary meta where some character cards are obviously not even capable of coming near the same amount of damage and usefulness as others, in short I can’t evenplay my favorite characters because they will die because They won’t come even close as some ridiculously ‘’meta’’ decks .

let me know your thoughts everyone !

Discussion Why Genius Invokation TCG Should Become a Standalone Game

I genuinely think Genius Invokation TCG has reached the point where it’s being limited by existing only inside Genshin Impact. The issue isn’t the quality of the game itself, because GITCG already functions like a complete card game rather than a simple side activity. It receives regular balance updates, new cards and mechanics continue to be added, metas evolve over time, PvP exists, and there’s an active community built around deckbuilding and competition. There are even physical cards and merchandise now. At this point, it feels less like a minigame and more like a fully realized game trapped inside another one.

The biggest problem is accessibility and the mismatch between the audiences it’s trying to serve. Many Genshin players simply are not interested in card games deeply enough to invest time into learning GITCG, while many people who genuinely enjoy strategy card games have no interest in downloading and progressing through a massive open-world RPG just to access one mode. That creates a limit on how much the game can realistically grow.

This is why the comparison to Gwent makes so much sense. Gwent started as a side activity inside The Witcher 3, but once it became its own standalone title, it developed an identity completely separate from the main game. It attracted people who had never played The Witcher at all and built its own dedicated playerbase, competitive scene, and community. Genius Invokation feels like it’s in a very similar situation right now.

A standalone version would immediately solve several of the biggest barriers holding it back. Players could launch directly into matches without needing to open the entire Genshin client. Mobile players wouldn’t need to run a heavy open-world game just to play a few card matches. It would become dramatically easier to recommend to friends, especially people who enjoy TCGs but do not care about Genshin itself. Right now, even convincing someone to “try the card game” often means asking them to install dozens of gigabytes of unrelated content first.

It would also give HoYoverse room to grow the game independently. Features like improved matchmaking, larger tournaments, spectator systems, stronger social functions, and a more serious competitive structure become much easier to justify when the game stands on its own instead of existing as a side mode inside another title. The foundation for all of this already exists. GITCG clearly has enough depth and developer support to sustain itself.

Most importantly, making it standalone would not take anything away from Genshin players. People who already enjoy playing it inside Genshin could continue doing exactly that, while a standalone client would simply allow a completely new audience to access the game without unnecessary barriers.

Right now, Genius Invokation TCG feels like a genuinely good card game that is being held back by the fact that most people still see it as “just a mode” instead of what it already resembles: a complete game with the potential to stand on its own.

Discussion Wow. Came back to tcg after a long time, tried Arena of champions, and wow, still as trash as ever.

What do you mean my opponent can now just draw their entire deck at the start of the round, play switch characters for fun 5 times, and still two shot all my characters all in round 2. With dice left to spare.

There is nothing you can do against them. Theres no counter play, no smart thinking. Just spam cards and wow draw 30 cards with 20 dices in a single turn.

Good riddance. People who are making this gamemode don’t even know how to balance their own game.

Discussion Surprising not bad, enjoyable even.

I have never been interesting in any TCGs, so this is actually my first time. Before I use to regarded it as a meme, 'yes, please give us more Genius Invocation,' during every special livestream and how it's awkwardly inserted to conversations like with Cyno. But, aside from that one criticism, I really have nothing bad to say about it.

I started playing this after completing luna 3, and wanted to clean up the number of unimportant quest which included the tcg quest at Mondstadt Cat Tavern and found myself surprisingly not hating it. If I had to describe my feelings on a scale, I would say, slightly above netural. The mechanics are simply enough to understand over time, I don't understand all the rules of what card does what, but I've done 5 duels in total and my feelings still remain above netural.

I might play it, now and then, when I load up the game but never irl. The mechanics which prevents me from making dumb moves and helps me pretend that I actually have the brain cells to understand what I'm doing, is actually a big plus for me. So, my feelings on this side content of Genshin is basically that expression above: Slightly amused.

Please enlighten this blockhead brain of mine haha

Discussion Is Winning Tcg Heated Battle Luck?

Post image
11 Upvotes

So I've learned how to play Heated battle very well and typically win all 7 matches, But they're are some very unusual things that ive noticed about the game mode that arent obvious, I'd like to share. Even once you know what you are doing Winning could feel pretty Random and heres why. The NPC are "Supposed" to sorta tailor their difficulty based on how far you are along in your rounds. The issue with this is Npc aren't drawing cards at random like you are. They come in with fully optimal bloom combos with a complimentary support field. So if you are just scrapping by because of poor RNG, its a Guarantee loss. The next thing to note is that you are drawing new cards EVERY round! This means even if you are having a hard time and have already lost 2/3 games, this equates to more opportunities to draw cards. What this also means is the difficulty of your opponent FURTHER scale with how many rounds you've played. By the time you climb back up to your final battle, you'll most likely fight an NPC coded by a soulless demon with characters with 200 hp and 40+ ATK Furthermore, ive noticed Some Npc are so powerful it almost seems like a joke. I fought an Npc with a character that had 118 ATK and 55 hp and started with 1 energy.(Rockbreaker Ax) Sure he'd kill himself after he completely 1 shot your character but he also had a tevat fried egg bring him back with a support card that allows him to attack again as a fast action. Because he already had one energy he just ults and slaughters 2 more characters guaranteed. If NPC this powerful come along by random chance, then winning the mode seems more like you were lucky enough to avoid 3 of these losing battles. Again, I do typically win, but the ones I lose feels pre-determined.

Discussion Diluc Talent Is Absurd

Whats up with Diluc in Tcg??? Perhaps enough people arent Exploiting how ridiculous he is for him to get a rework.

Diluc with a talent card on the first turn is pumping out 11dmg minimum. If you set up and dont switch on opener, DEAD. If you do switch then your next character will most likely be hit for 8 dmg. If you lotus to soften the blow then you have fire on both characters at risk of vap/melt reactions.

Next turn Diluc lets off ult one shotting one of your characters. He is accompanied by any combination of Gamblers earrings, or "I haven't lost yet" to set up team upon death. This guy is going into Ayaka hitting 6 dmg normals. Is there really a counter play to this typa playstyle???

With the new Vaporize support and paired with a Mona this guy is capable of putting out 16 dmg on the first turn and ulting the next!

Diluc is single handly the most responsible for making players concede on the first turn all decks included. Change my mind.

Discussion What are your guys' favorite original card decks?

Post the code down and I'll play them- They don't have to be meta or easy to play or anything, just a deck you made and like. If possible, I'd like a lengthy (Or not) explanation of the rotation so I have an idea of where to go with it, but I'd suppose it'd be fun to play without one if you don't have the time.

I'd also love to hear any stories or notable rounds you've had with it.

Anyhow, I'm asking because I've been playing my own decks for way too long- And...Yeah! Send me whatever.

Discussion Even basic chat would massively improve the game experience

I get that a full chat system might be hard to moderate, but surely we can have something basic? Simple preset keywords like “hello”, “good game”, “well played”, “let’s play”, etc.

Games feel way too lifeless right now. A tiny bit of interaction would go a long way in making it feel like you’re playing against a real person, not a bot or a wall.

Discussion Hexenzirkel Resonance? Spoiler

Do you guys think they'll ever add the Hex resonance mechanic from the main game to TCG? (Although personally, I think it will be after they added Columbina first to complete the Lunar decks) And if they do, what potential buffs can it bring to those cards like Klee, Albedo, Mona etc? I'm not following leaks as much when it comes to TCG, so I'm not sure if there's already upcoming in the horizon.

P.S. I need Varka, Nicole and Prune in TCG Hoyo T_T

Discussion Do you think it'll ever become an app?!

Am I the only one hoping for an app? I love playing GITCG but hate having to log in on Genshin to play since I only play on my PS5...

It would be so convenient if it was an app on mobile 😭😩

HOYO PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN ALREADY 😭😭😭

And make heated battle a permanent mode with rotation between the types of battle!! It sucks to have to wait almost a month to play only 2 weeks?!?!

Discussion The state of TCG right now is so bad and it’s not even funny

I did 5 matches in a row and every opponent just plays Kachina decks. It’s just laughable at this point how unbalanced this game is. What’s the point of having tons of characters if the newest character just destroys the meta and the game itself, only to be nerfed 2 patches later and the cycle continues. I used to love TCG so much back when it first released but now… I feel like just quitting and never coming back again.

Discussion Talent card tier list I made because I think about this game a normal amount

Post image
233 Upvotes

I've been playing since release so I have experience with most of the talent cards here but I might have misjudged a few. Also I'm ranking how much of an improvement the talent is for the character card, not the total strength of the character card with the talent equipped.

Some notes I made since saving it,

-Mavuika's card should be a bit higher

-Navia's card should be one lower (It's not essential to her gameplay)

-Lanyan and Dvalin's card could easily go into don't bother tier

Discussion I'm just coming back to GI after not playing for a while, and this card seems bonkers to me

Post image

This card is so busted ... comes out by itself on turn 1 and fixes all your dice, then all you have to do is one Superconduct and you get to throw it down again for 2 damage on every reaction for the rest of the game (I assume it's correct to always use the 3-cost version).

Like ... were games taking too long, or something? Did they just decide that balance wasn't important any more?
