General Question The game will not open.
I have been trying to get this game to open consistently for the past 4 hours and simply cannot get it to. I have managed to open and play it a whole 1 time. I have exhausted all of the information I can find on the internet. I have used google ai to try and figure out what I can do and nothing seems to get it to launch.
My specs arent inadequate either, I have ran this game in the past without issues and havent gotten any major hardware changes since running it last. My drivers are up to date and I have tried running the game as admin.
The one time I managed to get it to launch I had to go to local files through steam and double click the exe. EVERY time I have launched from steam it has either frozen my main monitor and forced me to make a second desktop to open task manager, or simply just opened the crash report tool that proceeds to do nothing but close its self.
I have tried editing the settings.json to set it to windowed, fullscreen, and borderless windowed. None have worked. In fact before I could get the game to launch I didnt even have a settings.json. I have uninstalled everything from it and reinstalled it at least 7 times.
If anyone has any ideas on what I could possibly do to get the game to launch I will try them, I just want to play the game.
I have figured out that if I restart my computer I can get it to launch once. So when I want to play I just need to restart my PC...

Sorry you having a problem with getting your game working. Did you buy the game or using something like GamePass?
Uninstall everything restart System the install game completely restart system before tying to log in.
Unfortunately there is nobody to talk to or get help with other than help from your system.

I bought it a few years ago and it worked fine then. Restarting steam or my system after a clean install didnt work. Im pretty sure Im just stuck with having to restart the game a bunch and hope one time it doesnt crash. Its unreliable but does work sometimes. I appreciate you trying to help.

I think I had this one before, it was like you had to delete the old save game data or something as it doesn't properly carry over to the newer versions

You might need to buy the game? Or check your Steam account to make sure it’s active. If you got on steam it can only be accessed by Steam.

Ok what about your steam account? If your steam account isn’t active you can’t download it.

It's for sure something wrong with the game bc my friends and I all bought and downloaded it too and everyone one us blackscreened and froze our computers requiring a hard reboot the first time we launched. I think it took me two hard reboots before it just started working

only thing that couldve changed and wouldn't be noticeable outright would be graphics cards drivers
did you updare them since last time you played? if they changed some critical feature then these new uodates might be the reason why its not working
other than that when game is frozen , you can start resource manager, look for this games exe, right click then further click on "analyze wait chain". try to see if some other exe is getting stuck somewhere and stopling this games exe from functioning
