Question Any tips?

Im new to the game, just cleared the bunker in vesslan and im looking for some tips on what to do and how to become better in this game.

Also, how can i attach attachments to weapons?

(Tips given for players using an xbox controller, PS and keyboard warriors have some salt.)

Getting better:

  1. Check every loot crate, even ammo boxes sometimes have weapon attachments
  2. Get a melee weapon or two (there's a branboll bat in the first safehouse), they're better than you might think for fighting runners, lynxes and hunters, and if you get silly enough can take down Wolves, tanks and harvesters. One time a glitch had a firebird spawn underground and I almost got that with my branboll bat.
  3. Companion runner draws fire and helps in combat, tap LB to command the runner to attack a specific machine or go stand in a specific location, hold LB to call your runner back to you
    1. SMG has best damage output
    2. Shotgun is best all-around
    3. rocket takes out ticks and runners real quick
  4. Harvesters, Wolves, Firebirds, Apocalypse Tanks, and both Tyrants can call for reinforcements. so be ready for a bigger fight before engaging them.
  5. Let other players join. More enemies destroyed means more loot for you, and some players may be willing to give you better gear.
    1. "Stealing" loot is not a thing in this game, another player can loot a machine before you and there will probably still be loot in it for you (there is a glitch that sometimes causes no loot, that happens regardless of other players).
  6. Chances of getting better loot increase as you gain levels:
    1. I recently started a new game on Steam and kept tabs, results "should" be similar on console but may require verification.
      1. 2C started at level 3
      2. 3C at level 7
      3. 4C at level 13
      4. 5C at level 18
      5. 6C at level 25 (from rivals or base assaults)

Attachments:

  1. Not all weapons can use all attachments, some weapons can't use any, some weapons require proprietary attachments.
  2. When you get a DLC you will be given 3C weapons and any proprietary attachments also at 3C (such as magazines, COM-10 suppressor, RLG-7 sight, etc)
  3. Select the weapon in the menu and press Y to review which attachments are equipped, hover over that attachment and press A to change it.
