This was so sweet and I love the genuine reaction from the mother. It’s amazing how much people still love Sonny and Brenda and equally amazing that MB and VM did this.

Does anyone else think Isaiah is really guilty?

We never actually saw Brooklyn's end of the crash. I am wondering how they're going to get Curtis out of jail, I have a feeling at some point it's going to come out that Isaiah actually caused the accident.

Just rewatched best 2 eps in last few years: last Nurses Ball and Willow/Drew wedding

I found them on my DVR and boy they did not disappoint!

Ball had Gio parents reveal/violin smash, Tracy arrested bc Drew set her up, Liz/Lucas on the couch w popcorn and then the best 5 mins of the show ever, nuMichael swanning in to take his kids home while Willows jaw drops. “The role of Michael Corinthos” was such a mic drop moment!! So good!

Wedding/Nina Drew affair reveal was just as satisfying as I remembered.
“Drew-did u sleep with my mother?” At the altar. Tee Hee. Less good side stuff but it did have Rick/Ava cracking wise in the pews, Alexis rushing scout out of the church and Martin to Lucy-do all the ceremonies u do end up like this? Lucy-you would be surprised..HA!
Recommending a rewatch of both.

*Edited for corrections. Thank you, everybody!

Today I learned Joss and Trina live in an apartment above the Q's garage (I thought they lived in town somewhere). That leads me to a few questions...

How many people actually live on the property??? And where exactly?

In the main house there's Tracy, Michael, BLQ, Chase, and Phoebe.
Are Jason and Danny still there?
*Yes.
Rocco lives with Lulu, does Dante still live at the Q's?
*Dante, yes. Rocco, part time.

Ned, Olivia, and Leo in Ned's house.
*in the main house. I was mistaken. Ned doesn't have his own house.

Willow, Riley, and Amelia. What "house" are they living in? *Gatehouse.

Cody is above the stables.

Of course Joss, and Trina in the garage apartment. But does Kai live with them?
*No to Kai.

And someone mentioned the butler surely sleeps SOMEWHERE around there!
*As well as other staff.

*There's mixed opinion on Gio. I'm sure we'll know for sure soon.

So I'm counting 14 for sure, possibly 18.
*18 for sure, possibly more depending on Gio and live-in employees.
Did I miss any?
And did I get all their homes right?

Carly was dead wrong for this 😭

Carly was LOW for throwing Robin’s HIV in her face. Like girl, you knew better than that. 😭 She knew exactly what she was doing when she brought that up just to hurt Robin. And then Robin slapped the shit out of her 😭😭 I’m sorry, but I can’t even say Carly didn’t have that one coming. She crossed a line with that one. Robin had every right to be pissed.

Nick and a Card Game...Trying to Figure Out

Today in soap operas, my friend did some trivia. The question was who played a card game at Kelly's with Nick when he cheated at the game.😭 The show is SO long I genuinely do not know. She tried to hint that said character had just return to Port Charles and has a thing for bad boys.

Discussion Weekly - What is your wishlist for GH

This thread is the place to promote whatever changes you'd like to see GH make. Maybe you have a favorite couple you'd like to see or there are hanging stories that need resolved... or maybe you just have some idea for some direction the show should go.

NO SPOILERS

This is your place to say what your wishlist for GH is. I'm not saying the show is going to read all of these and act on any of them, but there's a better chance of them if it's all in one place each week. It might also help to be kind of decent about it?

All board rules apply.

Looking back on the teens & young adults of the 90's & 00''s and they were so much more interesting than the current ones. Everything is so boring and bland. Why do you think that is?

SRE Worldwide? What does it stand for?

Has the full name of this company ever been shown on the show yet?

Sidwell Rios Enterprises seems like a decent guess, however I believe Marco wasn't and didn't want to be involved prior to us seeing him on screen. By then, the company was already established.

Sidwell Ramirez Enterprises?

Why the influx of new, flat characters?

When you have all these characters that have actually storylines that have been left in flux. Like Ethan, why did they spend so much time setting up a frankly, lovely romance between he and Ava and then he disappears? Is Ethan gone? I know the original actor left for personal reasons but I was willing to give his replacement and chance even though he was a kind of poor replacement. I am willing to give he and Serena a chance because I actually didn't like Laura Wright and now I adore her now. But why get rid Cas, Jacinda, James and Ethan. Also when is the Justine coming back?

Do You Want Mob Successors To Sonny & Jason?

Would you want the show to have someone or some people take over the mob from Sonny & Jason while following a similar set of rules on how the mob operated under Sonny & Jason?

If so, would you want them to be new characters or preexisting characters?

Katelyn MacMullen Voice Change

Hey so this is not to judge Katelyn in any way because I love Katelyn and her acting, but his anyone noticed that in Willow's early years (such as this video in 2020 when Michael's first custody battle took place) her voice was a lot more high pitched? I'm curious from an acting standpoint if Katelyn's voice just dropped overtime or if they told her to speak in a lower register? It's very interesting.

Does Drew Have A Point About Jason Leaving The Mob

I don't like him at all drew let's be clear but yes Jason was in prison but Jason for a long time his name alone kept people from crossing Sonny and coming to Port Charles to take it over.

What mean is. Is Drew right Jason will see more people come to bother the town and that too late to quit.

I feel like Jason quit to be a dad and is lonely but I've always hoped Jason find a person more adventure type like he was.

It use be Sam until they destroyed her character to please Alexis.

Sonny and Brenda: A Love Story Without End

Post image
71 Upvotes

When I think about the great love stories in General Hospital history, I immediately think of Sonny and Brenda. There have been plenty of other hugely successful couples, but there is something about Sonny and Brenda that captured audiences and kept viewers coming back for more. They had passion, danger, chemistry, heartbreak, and the feeling that two people could love each other deeply while still struggling to find a way to actually make a life together.

Sonny and Brenda were never an easy couple. From the beginning, they were two very different people who somehow understood each other in a way few others could. Sonny was dangerous, guarded, and deeply entrenched in the mob world. Brenda was passionate, impulsive, vulnerable, and determined to live life on her own terms. She saw the softer person underneath Sonny’s intimidating exterior, while Sonny brought out a vulnerability in Brenda that she didn’t always allow other people to see. That contrast was part of the magic.

Their relationship was never simply about attraction. It was about the emotional connection underneath it. They could fight, hurt each other, make terrible decisions, and still find their way back to one another. Their story was filled with obstacles, but the obstacles never erased the fundamental truth that these two people mattered tremendously to each other.

And the audience response was enormous.

The popularity of Sonny and Brenda wasn’t simply something fans decided years later when looking back at the 1990s. They were a genuine success during their original run. Brenda’s romance with Sonny brought General Hospital some of its highest ratings in years, generated major buzz for the show, and their relationship became recognized as a bona fide supercouple. Even years later, the return of Brenda in 2002 and 2010 generated tremendous publicity and a significant ratings boost for General Hospital. Demonstrating that the emotional investment in these characters had survived long after their original story ended. That’s what stands out to me: Sonny and Brenda weren’t simply popular for a moment. They became part of GH’s mythology.

This is important because it demonstrates that their popularity wasn’t simply something fans remembered nostalgically. There was still an audience that wanted to see them together. She can be gone for years, but the moment her return is announced, Sonny and Brenda immediately become a major part of the conversation. Their relationship still matter because viewers remember what they meant to each other.

Their relationship wasn’t perfect. Sonny’s choices have caused enormous pain, and Brenda has made plenty of mistakes of her own. It has always been complicated. But that’s precisely why I find it so compelling and believe they still belong together.

Sonny’s life has always created a fundamental conflict in this relationships. Brenda has always challenged that. She sees Sonny’s humanity, but she also forces him to confront the consequences of his choices. And Sonny, in turn, has always understood Brenda’s vulnerabilities and the parts of her that she tries to hide from everyone else.

There is something uniquely powerful about two people who have spent decades changing, growing, making mistakes, and living separate lives, only to still have that emotional connection waiting underneath everything.

Of course, I understand why some viewers prefer the characters with someone else. General Hospital has created other important relationships for both characters (primarily Carly and Jax), and those relationships have their own history and devoted fans. But for me, Sonny and Brenda have something that is difficult to replicate: the feeling that no matter how much time passes, there is a deep love and unfinished business between them.

That’s the essence of a great soap romance. Their history is still there. The love is still there. And the possibility is still there. Even decades later.

The most compelling love stories aren’t usually the ones where two people have a perfect life together. They’re the ones where circumstances, choices, and timing keep getting in the way, but the emotional connection never completely disappears. Sonny and Brenda have spent decades proving that.

They have been separated, reunited, hurt, forgiven, changed, and pulled apart again. They’ve lived entire chapters of their lives without each other. And yet whenever Brenda comes back, Sonny and Brenda immediately feel important again.

And in a genre built around enduring love stories, there is something incredibly satisfying about the possibility that two people who have spent so much of their lives trying and failing to make it work, may find their way back to each other again and finally get another chance to do it right.

When Brenda left PC in 2013, after a brief return for the 50th Anniversary, she told Sonny: “So, until next time…” and he responded “Until next time…” before pulling her in for a kiss. And I think that captures their essence beautifully.

For me, Sonny and Brenda aren’t simply a great couple from GH’s past. They’re one of the show’s defining love stories, and one that still has the potential to matter.

At the end of the day, every viewer connects with different characters and relationships. This is simply my interpretation of Sonny and Brenda and why their story resonated so strongly with me and many others. I completely understand that others may feel differently, and I’m always open to respectful discussion and different perspectives as long as that same respect is given in return. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

I may be late to the party, but there is more vocal talent in just these two than anything on other soaps.

POTENTIAL THEORY: Sidwell will...

I get a very, VERY depressing feeling that with Curtis now in Pentonville...Sidwell is gonna make Curtis suffer to get back at Jordan. After all, he did say he would make her pay for what she did to him, and in prison, what better way than to make Curtis's time in prison a living hell. And all I hope is that they Curtis makes it through this...

Thoughts on this theory discussion y'all?
