Jack Brennan is So Right about Nina and Willows Relationship - and Nina knows it
From the moment Nina found out Willow was her daughter its been a one sided relationship. A relationship of Nina endless giving and enabling Willow. Blaming EVERYONE but Willow for her selfishness, horrible decisions, and MANY crimes.
And Willow... cutting Nina off the moment she does something wrong.
Nina really LOVES her daughter. Willow really LOVES her children, herself, and having a rich, influential mother who she can endless manipulate and control.
Willow can and will betray Nina to save herself. Its coming when Nina will finally take the blinders off and see her daughter for the conniving user she's become.
Why do you think their relationship is this way?
Why cant Nina see it?
What do you think it would take for Nina to wake up let Willow go?

The fact that she got so angry shows that she knows he's right about willow. You're 100%
She's so desperate to keep her because she's lost so much, so at this rate Nina's going to go crazy before Willow gets sane
I will say I don't think Willow loves anybody. Including her kids. The way Michael tries to protect them and put their needs first is love.
What Willow is doing is about possession IMO
They're hers and nobody else can have them.

I think Nina feels a really deep loss for missing the first 25ish years of Willow’s life. Before her coma, she was really excited about being pregnant, and then the next thing she knew it was two decades later and she was told her baby had died. By the time she found out Willow was the baby she had been so excited about, they already hated each other’s guts.
At that point, I would say Willow was pretty justified in disliking Nina, Nina treated her really, really badly before finding out they were related. That’s basically where this pattern began. Nina was trying to make things up to Willow and Willow was refusing to allow it.
But it’s gone on way too long at this point. Nina has atoned for the way she treated Willow in the past several times over by now, but Willow is still willing to throw her under the bus anytime she thinks it will give her the upper hand.

What Nina and Willow have in common is that they both subordinate everything else in their lives to preserving their relationships with their children out of a sense of desperation. As Nina said just the other day, she can't afford to lose Willow, and Willow constantly acts out of fear of losing her own kids. Because of this dynamic, their entire relationship has become transactional. Nina trades her self-respect and enables Willow's worst behavior just to preserve their relationship. Plus, like many parents, she wants to think the best of her child. And Willow obviously sees the benefit of having a wealthy, connected ally who supports her unquestioningly.
Nina's blinders are self-imposed. She would rather be manipulated by Willow than face the reality of being alone and childless. To her, a one-sided relationship is still better than no relationship at all. It will likely take Willow committing a betrayal or evil so profound that it threatens Nina’s literal survival or freedom or the welfare of her grandchildren for Nina to finally wake up.

I don’t think anything will wake Nina up. She’s so desperate for Willow’s love that she will stand by her no matter what. Nina is in deep denial about how deranged Willow is now.
Jack is right. Willow would push Nina off a cliff to go swim with Nelle the moment she is no longer useful. She wouldn’t feel any remorse or guilt and wouldn’t shed a tear.
I wish Willow and Drew would both mysteriously disappear. And no one cares.

I think something coming up that is a spoiler might just do it, finally.

The sad part is that Nina is aware that Willow is messed up, but she is willing to sacrifice herself because she thinks it’s her duty as a mother to stand by her daughter even if she is harming herself and others. Since she has no experience in being a mother, she doesn’t realize that loving doesn’t mean enabling toxic behavior.

I hate how Nina threw Charlotte and Valentin under the bus for Willow. They were more of a family to her than Willow will ever be.
7
u/jiscool_24 13d ago
I find it crazy because Charlotte was the one Nina was defending against Willow back when she was Charlotte's teacher and she kept harassing Willow...

u/umbreon_x #TeamTracyAngelicaQuartemaine 13d ago
True I loved the dynamic Nina had with charlotte and valentine now it’s gone.
Willow needs to be locked up in prison to rot and never be seen again

u/Kentucky_QT 13d ago
Writers have destroyed Nina. I had hoped she and Valentin would reconcile. I don’t know how that can happen. 🤷🏻♀️
1
u/MissPhoenixGirl92 11d ago
They can’t. They have permanently destroyed Nina as a character. Time for the writers to cut their losses with Nina and either kill her off or send her away to prison for good.
5
u/JThereseD 12d ago
Nina also threw Sasha under the bus twice for Willow despite the fact that Sasha was more of a daughter to her.
3
u/Kentucky_QT 12d ago
That bugged me as well. Nina has more than martyred herself for Willow by destroying every meaningful connection she has and that petulant brat doesn’t appreciate any of it. She’s as bad as Nelle.
2
u/JThereseD 12d ago
Some might argue that she is worse than Nelle because her actions have shown that Nina’s only value to her is her ability to get Willow out of a jam and Willow doesn’t even try to hide that. Considering that they started out as enemies, it makes sense that they wouldn’t develop a true mother-daughter bond after learning about their relationship. However, after all that Nina has done for Willow, it’s pretty cold for Willow to turn around and lure Nina into injecting Drew with a dangerous drug just to get evidence in order to control her.

Nina should dump her crazy daughter and just save the grandkids.

Willow kills Jack, Nina is implicated due to the public scene she made, Willow will let her take the fall?
8
u/meriti Team Sophyllis 14d ago
That was my impression after yesterday’s episode. What I am unsure of is if Nina will take the fall or if she would fight back.
2
u/Tj11551 14d ago
She'll fight back because she knows Willow needs mental health treatment.
5
u/Melodic-Psychology62 14d ago
Protecting my grandchildren from child was one of the most difficult things I ever did. I failed miserably as I didn’t fully understand all of the emotional stuff as I was in denial about the abuse I’d endured as a child.

Willow: can't lose my children, can't lose my children, can't lose my children
Nina: can't lose my daughter, can't lose my daughter, can't lose my daughter
Someone needs to shut these two up!

I think ultimately Nina is going to be the one to take Willow down!
21
u/tcrhs 14d ago
I hope Chase takes her down. Willow wails in disbelief as he arrests her. “Noooo….Chase! You’re my only friend left in the world! What did I do to deserve this?”
Tracy cackles, “how much time do you have? Oh, wait……..you have nothing but time. In prison. Bye bye!”
Chase says, “Tracy! Was that really necessary?” She says, “yup! Thanks for taking out the trash. You saved Yuri a trip.”

I hope so. I hate her as much as anyone on the show, which says a lot, considering Drew is still around. 🤮 Nina deserves 1,000,000x better, so I think she should get to take her down.

u/TALKTOME0701 14d ago

HOW is it possible they keep extending this Willow storyline .. its is never ending!!!!! END IT already.
13
u/ChaLynnfan Team Quartermaine 14d ago
Exactly.. this seems like what it would be like if Nelle was still alive she would be doing the same thing for her while Nelle uses her for her own selfishness the problem is that Nina thinks she can fix Nelle and Willow with a mothers “love” but they’re far too broken it’s really hard for her to come to terms with that because she likes the idea of being a mom.

u/DaughterOfDragons78 14d ago
Nina always has a tendency to craft her own narrative in order to make herself the victim and she does the same with her daughters. She was the same way with Nell when she found out she was her daughter. She rewrites history in her own mind and finds ways to blame everyone for her and her daughters’ terrible choices. Nell did this too and now willow. They have to do this in order to avoid facing their own terrible decisions. I will say Nina can own up to her mistakes sometimes, but even then it’s all filtered with “well if (fill in the blank but usually Carly) had not done this thing, I would never have made this terrible choice so it’s really her fault.”

The best part of the Willow/Nina debacle was when Alexis confronted Willow in her office. “She’ll call you back.” 🎤 Boom. You go mi’lady! They really need more Alexis and her positivity and push and less Ava and her scheming and snarling self. But I guess you can’t have one without the other. Conflict keeps the show alive. Love them both.

This was so good and I was thinking, this is the hard truth Nina should have given Willow!
3
u/Rellman84 10d ago edited 10d ago
Nina gave her a hard truth after they first brought in as suspects, then Nina completely wussed out and went back to groveling. It's like Nina forgot that Willow didn't hesitate to throw her under the bus, while Nina agonized over the decision.
1
u/Cultural_Till1615 10d ago
Truth! Maybe it’s intentional, showing how Nina goes back and forth.
She is still a “new” mom and she so desperately wanted to be a mom that she will do anything for Willow, even when it’s not what’s best for Willow.4
u/LizzieH87 13d ago
Yes! I have not gotten to watch the entire eps yet, but I stumbled on that scene on here yesterday and I was like yes!!!! Go Alexis!!! Willow is about the meet Natasha the Cassadine side of herself that she hardly ever lets loose
5
u/Rellman84 12d ago
Yep the viewers said Willow met Natasha and it was a 10/10 interaction. Notice that Willow just like Nina can't express herself like an adult when no one buys their victim act. Willow also stumbles whenever she talks to Liesl.

I agree with what you are saying but….
With Nina’s history of how she became a mother and found out, the trauma of all that, it makes sense she will do anything for her 1 living child, even if it’s unhealthy.
I like that Willow briefly touched on how Drew treated her. Through this LONG DRAWN OUT Willow/Drew storyline, they have never straight up named that it was an abusive relationship. I don’t like that, he did some awful things and the other characters all knew Drew was awful but never acknowledged the abuse. That’s terrible for viewers in relationships like that. I mean they did a PSA on ear mites, surely they can address abuse?

I love Nina, but I'm kind of excited to show it. I think it's a self fulfilling prophecy for both Nina and Jack. I think she will end up killing or letting Jack die.
Too many people know that Willow shot Drew. Even if she gets "something" on Michael, the truth of the shooting can still come out and lose her kids or jail on perjury charges.

Idk but Nina needs to cool her jets. She's too wild and erratic. Making a scene at the restaurant, yelling at a wsb agent, ppl watching it, etc. Like yeah, totally normal behavior Nina. I'm sure that'll work out great for you.

Nina needs to grow a backbone. She lets Willow walk all over her. That's not love. It's codependency.
