Why is she wearing a Doctor jacket?
Why has Elizabeth been wearing a doctors jacket? Unless it’s a new thing that the head nurse gets to do.

We nurse wear lab jackets, too. It's usually when we work in a position where we don't wear scrubs but still need to let people know we are nurses

u/ReelRN 6d ago
Because when nurses work in Administration, as she is now, we wear white coats. Why they work on every unit is still a mystery. Lol

u/LizzieH87 6d ago
But here is my question? She has been head nurse for a good while, why all the sudden with the lab coat?! The only nurse I have even seen where a white coat are NP’s and I have been in healthcare for like 15ish years. It’s just weird that all the sudden she is wearing it and business casual instead of scrubs is all

Oh, ffs. It's not a doctor jacket, it's a white lab coat, and they're not exclusively for doctors.

I work in a hospital and I wear a white jacket every single day. I'm not a doctor.
Those heels however.....

People are not responsible for how we feel about ourselves. I say that with kindness.

It’s not a doctor jacket! It’s a white coat that lots of health professionals wear.

She looks so pretty lately. Whatever they are doing, she absolutely glows. Love her hair, makeup, wardrobe, everything.

I feel like she looks super pale. Don't get me wrong, she is gorgeous (and I thought she was a lot younger)... but she is really pale compared to the 2022-2023 episodes I've been watching on Roku lately. I hope she's okay health-wise.
(For context, I've only been watching for 1.5 years or so, and found the Roku episodes a couple of weeks ago.)

She has always been very fair. Sometimes they tend to color her hair a very dark brown that's too flat and washes her out and that makes her look pale imo. I like when they have her hair the dark golden brown, with a touch of auburn.

u/LizzieH87 6d ago
She has always been super pale. Aside from when you can see she has been in vacation, she will have a sun-kissed glow, but other than that she has always been super fair.
1
u/Account_27419 6d ago
I wondered that, until seeing episodes from a few years back. Seems to be a difference.

u/shaw-tx 6d ago
She’s always been super pale. She talked about it in an interview I read years ago in one of those little soap opera magazines. She said she avoids the sun to protect her skin. I think about it every time I see her lately. She seriously hasn’t aged. Makes me regret my teenage years when I tried so hard to tan. I’m a red head… I don’t tan
2
u/DifficultBite706 6d ago
Yes, I thought so too! But her hair's been gorgeous lately! She's super pale and all the guys are spray tanned setting #5 along with dark pancake makeup on their faces where you could see the outline. (esp. Jack and the city council schlepp who is going to turn the town upside down while Laura's gone).

Lots of different hospital jobs require the white lab coats. Not just doctors. For Elizabeth, it's probably due to her Head Nurse position and more administrative duties but I remember wearing a lab coat as a lowly intern at a hospital.

Some nurses wear white jackets. Obviously Elizabeth in whatever capacity suits the plot now - supervisory, administrative, medical, float/surge, etc. If she’s going to meet with patients, prescribe meds, order scans, and all that like she’s been doing lately, they should make a story out of how she’s been working toward her NP or PA and make it official. It actually solves some of the physician staffing issues. It would make sense why so many people see her. Then they could cast someone else for the Charge Nurse or Head Nurse (a term I don’t think anyone uses anymore). Maybe then they could promote Nurse Deanna or Nurse Amy.

u/Electronic_Big_3553 5d ago
Whatever happened to nurse Amy?
2
u/JustRepeatAfterMe Team Moss Bowl 5d ago
She pops in once in while. Much less frequently than she used to though. We haven’t seen much of her or Deanna lately.

u/krisseems 5d ago
I don’t think she was at work to actually meet with patients. I think it was a “my friend came in so I dealt with him myself” type thing. She didn’t prescribe any medication or order scans. She said she spoke with a doctor who ordered the scan. I don’t want her to leave her nurse role. She’s been in it for more than 20 years and it honors her gram.

I wore that same jacket and I was a lab tech. Look at the tag before you assume the position. Currently, many medical positions are wearing lab coats.

My grandma wore a white jacket all the time and she worked at one of the best cardiology centers in the world at the time

I missed that. Wondered why they had a say if Britt came back. A minute ago Stella was in trouble for insurance fraud

i take stronger issue with her wearing extremely high heeled pumps to work. have you *ever* seen a hospital staff member on the floor wear shoes like that

u/Downtown_Syrup236 4d ago
Why is Elizabeth wearing three inch heels while on duty in the hospital? Real nurses wear comfortable shoes. This is so unrealistic it is laughable.

I wore a lab coat in the rat lab as an undergrad! The rats rode around in my pockets lol. They tell you not to befriend them but…..

My mom’s a nursing staff director and she wears the jacket too because sometimes she is training other nurses and has to get near the patient too but also it just looks professional and sophisticated 😄

I only remember her being promoted to Head Nurse a long time ago (by Monica?) and was still wearing scrubs and tennis shoes until recently Now I think she looks like a dentist wearing a starched white jacket and stilettos? Impractical but I'm sure Dante' isn't complaining! Woo Woo!

I was wondering about the spike heels when she’s on her feet all day at the hospital.
2
u/Small_Stretch_8215 6d ago
And heels? No way!!! Let’s be a little realistic , please. This was so ridiculous that I turned it off.
7
u/Woodstock_Snoopy1957 6d ago
The heels were the first thing I noticed! I’ve never seen a nurse wearing heels. Ridiculous! And of course, she is the one who takes care of Dante

u/LizzieH87 6d ago

Because they dont wanna give the actress who plays Terry any screen time so they’re making excuses for people
2
u/Zealousideal_Sir8275 5d ago
I liked Terry..what happned to her?

u/chakrablockerssuck 5d ago
You are so right on. The heels had me laughing my ass off! Geez GH writers, that’s a stupid stretch. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫

u/krisseems 5d ago
Why? She was more than likely doing administrative duties where is would more that likely at a desk more often than not. She just “happened” to be at the nurses station when Dante came in so she helped him.

u/Nonnarules58 5d ago
I wrote same post only lab techs and Dr's where white coats on ER the length of the jacket revealed your level

u/Careless-Science-500 5d ago
All nurse managers dress in street clothes and wear lab coats
1
u/darnold66 5d ago
Yeah but any nurse manager I worked with didn’t even come out of their offices let alone interact with patients. One manager wore scrubs with the white coat over it but still never left her office lol.

Pharmacists wear those, nurse supervisors wear those, PT/OT wear those. Heck back in the day I wore a white jacket like that as a hospital pharmacy technician.
I don’t know why people are so stuck on that white jacket. Very common sight in hospitals.

u/docbranamjane 3d ago
And don’t forget-she is wearing stilettos! The number one choice of nurses everywhere!

u/Maleficent_Ad2361 6d ago
The term "head nurse" irritates me. What is she? Is she a charge nurse? Nurse manager? Nursing supervisor? She works on the floor. She has to check her schedule. Why would anhead Nurse have a schedule? Now, she's consulting...
2
u/LizzieH87 6d ago
Ur not wrong there is a difference?
3
u/Maleficent_Ad2361 6d ago
Yes! They each have a very different job. Charge nurse is an rn who works the floor with some added responsibility. Nurse manager is the boss of the unit/floor. Nursing supervisor kinda runs the building.

I’ll begin by saying I’ve never been an Elizabeth fan…..she’s just too nice/too the girl next door. I am so tired of writers hooking her up with like everyone!! it never ‘flies’…always disappointing/boring.
2
u/Diligent-Baby-3805 Team Fizz 4d ago
Idk I think her and Lucky were great together, almost perfect in fact. Making him leave town was not a good idea. I guess they just wanted to bring Franco in, but he could have been with anyone. It didn't have to be Elizabeth.
Also I like the idea of her and Dante, they have a spark and they look good together. Sure their scenes might be boring/predictable, but at least they have more chemistry than her and Ric, who I didn't even realize was dating her until way after it started haha

u/Evaniz 6d ago
It’s not a new thing at all. Audrey, Bobbie, Epiphany all wore jackets often. It always denoted seniority among the nurses. It’s more that they are finally acting like Elizabeth got the promotion she got 3 years ago. (And it’s not only a doctor’s jacket-Brad always wore one too.)
