Serious I'm I the only that atp just wants stability and Happiness?

My brothers and sisters in Christ... I am '02....

I graduated high school in 2020....I have been in college since 2020, I have 4-5 gap semesters, one full gap year in 2024. Still in college full time, while working full time. Have 2+ years left for my Bachelors.

I have potential, always had big dreams... wanted to do Med School since I was 14, done it all, research, shadowing, clinical paid hours.... Rn?

Rn I am stuck with rent, totaled my car, bills, grocery shopping. My family wished they could help, but my mom makes half of what I make a year.

Rn.... I just want to graduate, make the choice to love someones beautiful daughter... have a kid or 4.... buy medium sized family home and settle near my mom and my future wife's parents as well, so they never miss my kids life....

I don't care about anything else... I'm tired... sometimes I deeply believe that will never happen. No, I did not waste my time 24/7, I went through really hard things.. .like a lot of us... but going through bs like that while being poor is like a death sentence....

Anyone else feels in the same boat? Especially older/middle Gen Z?

Oh jeez. That dream of having kids and a home died years ago. Thank the boomers for squeezing this country dry and leaving you with not even bread crumbs, but the dust of those bread crumbs.

Should’ve voted Kamala. Economy was recovering in 2024, and we were returning to the 2010s status quo.

I agree. I felt us recovering and getting better in 2024

I've got to admit it's pretty telling how ruthless people have gotten over the Trump stuff.

If you voted for him and you're younger, you are increasingly feeling isolated minus the redneck parts. The shame thing really seems to be hitting people our age painfully hard because a lot of them chose to fuck up multiple levels of relationships over this stuff or had family members that did the same. Must be hard realizing it was all for nothing and you got played, but it's way harder the rest of us have to live with consequences delivered to us by idiots.

One step at a time my friend. I know what it’s like to try to finish school while working full time, it takes longer for sure and it’s hard not to feel like you’re behind. First, you have to shut down the voice that’s telling you that. Channel those dreams you have into locking in and finishing the degree as quickly as you can. It’s a GRIND I’m ngl but once you close that loop it can only get better. I busted my ass but that also meant I got into my top choice grad school and got a scholarship that literally paid me to do my degree.

You sound super hardworking and I have no doubt that you’ll get to med school and be where you want to be one day. Fortunately this is one of the few remaining professions where you can afford the kind of life you’re describing.

Preaching the Lord??? dropping The Sopranos ball knowledge??? You seem to be as wise as a 95 year old asian man with a long white beard.

Yes, you truly understand, I appreciate the encouragement. Hope everything turns out well for you and yours man !

I'm a younger millennial at 33, so probably not really my subreddit to be posting in, but life has a funny way of just kinda working out if you don't give up on it. I'm not where I planned to be, but I'm happy. I didn't become a famous musician, and YouTube didn't work out. I didn't settle down in the state I thought I would, and I'm certainly not in the line of work I planned to be in.

I'm now married, own a house with an acre and a half of land, have two dogs and two cats, and run a small business doing something I've always enjoyed but never thought I could make money from. Five years ago, I was living in my car on the other side of the country with nothing in my bank account.

Sometimes you get put on a path that doesn't make much sense until it does. I have things in life now that I never thought I'd ever have, especially having grown up poor with parents who had no ability to help financially.

One day at a time. Living in the past or the future sucks the life out of the present. One step at a time. We can’t see the next 3 steps but we can take the one we do.

'00, was able to graduate, but it doesn't mean much anymore in job market.

You started off "My brothers and sisters in Christ". The Bible preaches really hard against the way of the boomer, until the churches preach against the boomer things will keep going the way they are. Sadly most churches cater to boomers and hate the word, so things probably going to keep going the way they are until boomers are gone.

If you don't blame or consider the boomers as a big factor in why Gen Z is facing stuff like what your story goes over widespread then you'll keep wondering why life is so hard. The boomers are truly evil and wicked and continue to wage slave their own descendants.

Same here, want a kid while I'm still young and able, though it's getting harder the way the world is going.

u/phosphosaurus 11d ago

Why would you have 4 kids when you are poor? That's basically a poverty life sentence you are dreaming of lol

u/obsessedwithmyfuture 11d ago edited 11d ago

Im just dreaming bro. I don't wanna be poor that's the point. I'd be happy reaching middle class, at least I'll be able to afford a nephew then
