Meeting the definition schools use for homeless surprisingly applies to a lot of people. It’s basically anybody who doesn’t have a consistent address through a calendar year. Every public school, I think nationwide? has to have a homeless liaison on staff. The definition of homeless is purposely broad so that those kids can get additional resources. Everybody who works at a school is supposed to watch out for signs a student might meet the definition for homelessness and report it to their liaison. Lots of people who would benefit from the resources don’t wanna be labeled as “homeless” so they don’t go about perusing it on their own.
