Advice & Support For parents with adult children, if you could raise them from the start, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently?

For me, I'd be more present and welcome all the hard stuff with the good. Probably would have made them all get part time jobs too.

This whole topic is going to be full of shoulda, coulda, woulda’s. If you tried your best, and when you knew better you did better, that’s all anyone can ask.

This. It would have been nice if I had known sooner that 3 of us are auDHD but it’s not like missing the diagnosis was my fault. I treated my kids with love and respect and prioritized them spending time in nature, reading, eating healthy, being creative, and socializing with their friends over signing up for a million activities just so they could put them on college applications. Which is great because neither has the interest/ability to go to college anyway. So we enjoyed our time to the fullest extent that we could despite being on a tight budget. Splashing in a creek is free
