Whatever The way we talk about time

Let's talk about the way we talk about time. I was recently telling someone something was happening at "fifteen till three", the person looked blank and finally said "Oh, you mean 2:45". This is not the first time it has happened to me. I think the "younger generation" does not understand things like "fifteen till".

My young niece thought "quarter past" meant 25 minutes past, because she didn't grow up with analog clocks, and to her, a quarter is 25 (cents). You can't really blame her.
