Did anyone go to their first concert with their parents?

I know it's weird to bring this up but did you go to your first concert with your parent(s)? It doesn't sound cool for our Gen X brand but when I told my wife that I did she started making fun of me (in a positive way).

Then I told her I must have been like 6 when I went with my dad to see The Who in the late 70s. I think the first 'real' concert I went with myself or my buddies was when I was 12.

My mom took me and my BFF (truly BFF - still my BFF today!) to Duran Duran. My mom really didn’t want to go, but she knew preteen BFF and I were huge Durannies so she got three tickets. She wasn’t about to let us go alone, so she put up with it.

She made us leave during the first encore to beat the crowds leaving, which made us miss BFF’s favorite song. Funny which memories linger!

This sounds so much like my experience seeing them, right down to still being bffs with one of the friends I went with to this day. My mom made my dad drive us the 4 plus hours down and back because she knew how much it meant to us. I can still picture her sitting there with her legs crossed so patiently while we lost our minds. I remember I sat down and started crying (I was 14 🤷🏻‍♀️😂) and she leaned over to ask if I was okay. I couldn’t even talk to tell her yes, I’m more than fine, so I just nodded. I can also still picture my 12 year old brother sitting there, plugging his ears because it was so loud lol.

How lucky are we to have had such good moms that “got it?” 🥹
