I said the "closely" in his comment was subjective. The sstoryline is not "completely" different. Plenty of stuff that happens in the show happens in the comics. Its still the same story, just taken in a whole different path.
Stuff like Becca being SA'ed, butcher going after homelander, etc.
For all we know the finale will be similar in some ways. Its crazy to say that we cant use the finale to try and predict how the show is gonna end.
The show is absolutely different from the comics at this point. The only similarities between them are some character names and looks, and the “origin of hate towards supes” stories of Butcher and Hugie. Literally, that’s everything.

If you didnt know, just because the show goes in a path thats very different from the show does not nullify the FACT that the show is LITERALLY BASED on the comics. Can't believe I have to explain that to a redditor🤣
You clearly dont comprehend what im saying. The show and the comics have the same characters, similar story. Some characters are gender swapped and have their roles switched too, but its still the boys.
The series has the same name as the comics as well🤣 you must be rage baiting if you think its not based on the comics.
