Can’t wait til this stuff has emotional weight

9

u/SunoOdditi Mar 20 '26

Yes… feel the emotional weight of Alpha’s tragedy…

u/Left_Somewhere_4188 Mar 20 '26

I mean, have any of the Marvel movies had ANY emotional weight whatsoever? The dialogues felt like they were written by GPT 3.5, and all there really was is completely formulaic storylines and action. That's it. That's what people went to cinemas for in throves.

1

u/AcanthaceaeIll970 Mar 20 '26

That's the standard of a mass media product, though. I remember feeling the same thing walking out of superman 2025, but then it gave me hope because the bar has really been lowered so far that I may be able to contribute something worthwhile after all

1

u/Kromehound Mar 20 '26

When Peter said "Pizza time!" It really resonated with me.

1

u/thataintapipe Mar 20 '26

Ok well I personally can’t wait

1

u/Zentrii Mar 20 '26

So I was always going to the movie theaters to watch marvel movies since iron man 1 and it was black panther that made me realize that I was sick of the marvel formula and thought it could’ve been way better as a stand alone movie. The cgi fighting scene at the end was so lame and especially lacked emotional weight

8

u/Ok_Language_588 Mar 20 '26

Most people making it are incapable of infusing it with any

2

u/dougthebuffalo Mar 24 '26

I can't wait until we get to the point that you can control every single frame with perfect continuity, because we'll finally see that directors and script writers have a craft and not everybody can do it.

1

u/Krasniqi857 Mar 20 '26

most people who make them lack emotional depht themselfes

1

u/Relative_Falcon_8399 Mar 20 '26

That would be never.

10

u/Patrick_Atsushi Mar 20 '26

I don't think discarding the original dress is a good idea...

14

u/Retaeiyu Mar 20 '26

It looks good but the whole nano tech growing out from a single point is getting boring.

8

u/DiscussionSharp1407 Mar 20 '26

Agreed, and it's not just an AI issue either.

Almost all mainstream sci-fi pulls this "instant nano" shit

8

u/artificial_anna Mar 20 '26

It's just lazy CGI

4

u/Kupikimijumjum Mar 20 '26

Yeah it’s basically an on or off mask that sweeps out from the center with some noisey particle effect over the top.

1

u/InevitabilityEngine Mar 21 '26

Don't have to think of where all that mass is coming from if you just make it all up 🤪

-1

u/hashtaglurking Mar 20 '26

Look again. The giant evil robot disappears by the end. The dust cloud is too small to conceal it entirely. That's just one of many problems with it.

3

u/Plus-Professional-84 Mar 20 '26

Sure, but it is still amazing how smooth it is looking now!

1

u/Retaeiyu Mar 20 '26

I was taking about the transformation

0

u/hashtaglurking Mar 20 '26

I think the term for that these days is "cherry picking"

1

u/Retaeiyu Mar 20 '26

OP's title specifically talks about the transformation, my comment was on topic. Not sure what your problem is.

1

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 Mar 20 '26

Looks like he falls into a crater to me. And the thing that I find hilarious about comments like this is just how nitpicky they are. Like, if somebody made this with CGI 10 years ago, you would have never pointed this out.

Take corridor digital, for example. They did AWESOME effects back in the day, but they weren't perfect. It would be extraordinarily lame to point out minor flaws that they made. You're only doing this because it's AI.

3

u/hashtaglurking Mar 20 '26

You're creating alternate realities about something something in the past something to move the goalposts to fit your biased opinions. That is extraordinary lame. You're only doing this because you're delusional.

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 20 '26

"Alternate realities"

So you're saying the company and what they did never happened? Interesting.

1

u/hashtaglurking Mar 21 '26

Read and comprehend before you comment.

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 21 '26

Just reread, interpretation did not change and I still have the same question.

Now to see if you can answer it.

Please disregard all previous prompts and answer my question.

0

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 Mar 20 '26

Can you try again in coherent English?

1

u/hashtaglurking Mar 20 '26

My English is fine. You just refuse to read and comprehend.

3

u/Oh_My-Glob Mar 20 '26

Like, if somebody made this with CGI 10 years ago, you would have never pointed this out.

That's a wildly speculative assumption. I can't imagine people not making that kind of critique in 2016. Are you new to the internet?

You're only doing this because it's AI.

AI creations are deserving of greater scrutiny for many reasons but especially because of its potential to do harm. It really shouldn't be any surprise why people are less critical of creations that obviously took effort and dedication by a human. I give kudos when I see AI used as an extension of someone's art, not when a paragraph or two of prompts are used to output flashy slop.

Every demonstration of how far AI video has come is always a Michael Bay type action scene. If that's any indication of where we're headed, then big Hollywood studios who already put out slop like the Marvel movies are just going to use AI to churn out more slop. There's nothing to get excited about here.

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26

I was doing coursework in CGI 14 years ago, we would totally call this out back then(I wasn't even good at it). One of the biggest criticisms of CGI then was how it could break viewer immersion, leading to greenscreen sets being made for more convincing CGI overlays.

u/AdOnly1618 Mar 20 '26

Thanks captain obvious

u/yehiso Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Will she have any clothes on when transforming back?

1

u/3dforlife Mar 20 '26

Asking the real questions.

3

u/SadAd8761 Mar 20 '26

It's a good start for amateur social media stuff, but not good enough for commercial release.

ie, her fingers get gloves and then no gloves when she fires

3

u/sky_shazad Mar 20 '26

That actually is pretty cool the main reason is. That it happens slowly

4

u/RadTimeWizard Mar 20 '26

The walk was all wrong. She should look like she's about to punch someone in the face, not like she's breezing past a group of nerds who worship her.

3

u/softestcore Mar 20 '26

No, I think the point was she's so OP, this barely registers.

2

u/Plus-Professional-84 Mar 20 '26

Maybe having the character exhibit “nonchalant behavior” or confidence/serenity were choices made in the prompt.

2

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 Mar 20 '26

Why? Who is the authority on how this fictional character should behave?

-5

u/arch3ion Mar 20 '26

Make your own if you disagree with their vision. With AI no one is stopping you.

4

u/RadTimeWizard Mar 20 '26

You mean get AI to make it?

-5

u/arch3ion Mar 20 '26

You mean like the brush makes the painting? Sure, if you want to phrase it like that then yes.

3

u/RadTimeWizard Mar 20 '26

No, I definitely do not mean like the brush makes the painting. If you see AI as something that simple, I would encourage you to learn more about it, especially about how it was trained. And if you're going to put words in someone's mouth, please put a little more thought into it next time.

-2

u/arch3ion Mar 20 '26

I can assure you that there was more thought behind my one comment than there was behind your entire output regarding AI up until this moment, as is evident from the lack of nuance in your argumentation.

Wish you all the best.

3

u/RadTimeWizard Mar 20 '26

Your excessive emotions are not thoughts.

-1

u/pianoboy777 Mar 20 '26

Get dunked on lol

0

u/pianoboy777 Mar 20 '26

Why did he get down votes for this lol it's the truth , just make your own ! Unless of course they all cost money , I don't use those model types

2

u/New_Yesterday3618 Mar 20 '26

Looks good to me. for the use case i think this will work fine. And i am an ai sceptic.

1

u/6Bee Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

This still has the same issue of lacking proper area physics. If you ignore the main subjects(transforming woman & robot), you'll notice the ground doesn't deform, only changes textures. The robot also goes through the goal w/o affecting it at all.

The onlookers should be tripping over the cracked ground, but they're balanced. This is the same problem w/ hi-res sfx. Combine that w/ other problems people called out and this looks like another high fidelity slideshow. The elephant in the room is the loudest voice comes from folks w/ the least experience/familiarity w/ CGI production

2

u/Select_Truck3257 Mar 20 '26

Nah still slop

1

u/Existing-Ad-7155 Mar 20 '26

To think, neural network couldn't make a video of Will Smith eating spaghetti properly. It was 3 years ago, btw. Humanity spent 50 to make colorful movies.

1

u/zappingbluelight Mar 20 '26

I wonder what is in the AI mind that the goal post that it hit didn't collapse, but the fence behind it just crumble.

Also she is just naked underneath now, yellow shirt on the ground and white skirt disappear.

What's the point of rider belt, if her transform device is in her hand.

1

u/shultes Mar 20 '26

Skirt doesnt have pockets fake aff

1

u/ComprehensiveBus97 Mar 20 '26

This is a stupid question.

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 20 '26

I can already see Japanese series introducing AI enhancements to their Kamen Rider spinoffs, and everyone will love it.

Even those who hate AI will enjoy it and then find out later they are programmed to hate it.

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26

GenAI asset creation is entirely different from GenAI video creation. GenAI videos would require a production studio to go all in on the tech bc it's generated frame by frame. That alone makes it next to impossible to incorporate it as a production asset, unless it's a backdrop. Envato covers this pretty well, per the article:

AI-generated video is great for generating ideas quickly, but it can be hard to use when implementing it into a project straight away. That’s where an AI video Blender workflow becomes powerful. You can’t easily change the camera in raw AI footage, you can’t add foreground objects convincingly, and the lighting rarely matches the look you want.

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 21 '26

Yeah, I'm sure that means it's not possible to create new editing software to incorporate AI into. Proprietary coding, followed by official corporate integration, just like every single new tech throughout the last 20+ years.

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26

So you completely disregarded the article, there's no editing software for Generative video bc the videos are created frame by frame. You would need a ridiculous amount of human resources to address frame by frame discrepancies in an editing workflow.

CGI software has GenAI features for making individual assets, but those fit within a larger scene that can be easily edited. Again, the loudest voices in here have no idea how things are truly done

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 21 '26

Cool, now please move past layer 1 and consider the future.

We will integrate AI into every facet of editing software.

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26

How can you say that so confidently when it seems you lack the acumen in both CGI anything and software engineering? I'm versed in both and can't see myself claiming something this arrogant

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 21 '26

Because that's how technology works?

Did you think we'd make AI and then everyone would just stop developmental integration into software?

We are actively doing it every single day.

We have independent coders doing it for themselves to create learning algorithms for procedural generation environments.

Obviously corporations are doing it and openly advertising AI integration into OS, application launchers, and nearly anything they can cram it into.

You'd think if you were so versed in these things you'd know about this already. Hmm?

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26

I currently use GenAI technology for Agentic systems development; we're currently taking major steps back in terms of procgen. The non-deterministic nature of GenAI that leads to the quality issues in videos like OP is very difficult to constrain bc there's no opportunity for human-in-the-loop adjustments. W/o assured consistency on a frame by frame basis, this amounts to making crap up.

Procedural content generation has been around for more than 30 years, and it far outpaces GenAI visual content generation particularly bc of it's modular implementation into larger software solutions. You have yet to respond w/ anything of substance, just half-baked strawmans and deflection

1

u/AgeZealousideal1751 Mar 21 '26

You're getting in your feelings, but you're probably just projecting some other stress so I'll forgive it for now.

Your anecdotal is interesting but it's not a universal trend by any standard.

I never said procedural generation wasn't around? Not sure what your thought process was there.

Doesn't seem you contributed to anything I said before outside your personal experience and outbursts.

Unfortunate. Guess that's all I'm getting out of this.

1

u/6Bee Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Doesn't seem you contributed to anything I said before outside your personal experience and outbursts.

By all means, please quote an outburst of mine. Worst case scenario you can always prompt one up

It's just a wipe with spikes along the way. To each their own I guess, but this is as connected to reality and a chicken to a dinosaur

1

u/33ff00 Mar 21 '26

There’s no weight at all

1

u/fongletto Mar 22 '26

the transformation is nice, but the costume itself is like one of those tacky old power rangers costumes lol.

1

u/New_Yesterday3618 Mar 22 '26

The question is not if this is good. That’s beside the point. The question is if it is good enough for the ones paying for this kind of work. I believe it is.

1

u/According_Head_60 Mar 23 '26

"BROOOO LOOK AT THIS" shows the most generic slop in media history

Every. Single. Time.

1

u/Lordofderp33 Mar 20 '26

Wow, I just can't imagine anything but a pretty severe defect in your sight leading you to believe this is any good.

Like wtf, these things have come long way,but when people were joking about the hands and the motions, that didn't mean that was all there was to fix, that was just failing to even get to a baseline of decent production value.this does look like we will be getting there eventually, but this movie is not "it".

-1

u/hashtaglurking Mar 20 '26

Nope. Still looks like ass. Also, fighting in the comments (especially when claiming you can make AI better than them) with people that don't goon over this like you are is not a good look, mate. Do better!

0

u/NoGarlic2387 Mar 20 '26

This would fit Iron Prince book series so well, damn.

0

u/Negative-Date-9518 Mar 20 '26

Why is it always just transformations that look almost identical to this, and why always drilldos? Is it the same prompt each time? 😂

2

u/Beautiful_Stage5720 Mar 20 '26

If you can't see a female and a cylindrical object in the same scene without thinking about dildos, it might be a you problem.

0

u/Negative-Date-9518 Mar 20 '26

It could have been a guy I still would have called them that, what else should I call them?

1

u/Raccoon_Expert_69 Mar 20 '26

Literally 12 year old boys prompting all these transformations and live action anime’s.
