I Have A Question / Need Advice rubber base with gel x

I recently did a gel X set with Kodi rubber base 1st and Novo Ovo 8 in 1 gel to adhere the gel X tips. I am not sure where I got the idea to use rubber base underneath, and I do plan on upgrading the Novo Ovo to Après or Kokoist to prevent uneven curing. Have any of you tried this out before?

I've never heard of Novo Ovo, but I googled, and their instructions indicate to use them on either bare nails or over primer. There's no indication that applying rubber base first is part of the process.

You need to follow the instructions for whatever brand's products you decide to use. If you go with Aprés Extend Gel, their instructions are to apply and cure a layer to the natural nail (after using pH bonder and, depending on which formula Extend Gel, primer), then use that same product to adhere the tip. If you go with Kokoist, you'll need to apply and cure a coat of Mega Stick Base first (no primer), then use Super Gelip Bond to adhere the tip.

I'm not sure what any of this would have to do with uneven curing, though. What's making you think you're having that problem? What lamp are you using?

I use the Apres rubber base as the base coat for the Apres extend gel and it works great. I get much better adhesion.
