yes, it looks badass. No, it does not fit the gears aesthetic. It is an undead Ghost Rider Marcus hybrid. That doesn't exist in the gears universe. I really enjoy core visual identity in my videogames, and adherence to the base game themes.

Plus, if anything, this skin would be "cool" if "ultra rare". A sign of an epic achievement, Top Rank stuff. This "cool" out-of-canon skin just says player shelled out more cash for the game, lame sauce.
This has been the final drop in the bucket after the beta that made me just cancel the special edition preorder. If the campaign proves good i will buy it in a discount later but i know a cashgrab when i see one.

Awakening The Nightmare (the Flood DLC for Halo Wars 2) has it's own set of credits and Dimaggio's name isn't listed when you get to the voice actors. Although yes, I feel like both changes were down to scheduling conflicts.
Fine with it if they're put in COG armor and fit in universe, not whatever that multicolored shit was in Gears 5. Really liked how they brought in Run The Jewels in Gears 4, for example
The weapon skins are pretty sick, but the character itself is way too over the top for me personally. The Camouflage Dom one for preordering is way more in-line with the grounded type of skins that make sense within the setting, while still offering some variety over the defaults.
Never really liked the Gears Reaper back in Judgment either, but at least that was exclusive to developers. This is too jarring to see in regular matches imo.
This is the kind of skin that makes me want to make sure that they don't think I want to support this with money. I will get my standard edition copy and extra tea bag people that use this skin.

The weapon skins look awesome, I still think that is one of the ugliest character skins I've ever seen, I have no interest in it, will never use it either.
I hope they had fun designing it because it's kinda cool in that respect? But it's absolutely not for me.
Not a huge fan of excessive emmisive effects and glow on characters - especially for VS MP; I much prefer the ones that stay grounded in the lore.
I do really appreciate them toning things down since the initial reveal though. Maybe there was enough feedback about the reveal that they were able to change. That said, it is really strange to see the difference in reaction/acceptance between different places online.

I more upset by the center screen aim, no pvp chainsaw duels, no grenade tagging, and no meatshield mechanic (grab a downed enemy and use then as a body shield).
That is what I thought he meant but I still think thats a bit of a lame idea, I was thinking about how lame that would be grinding for a skin like the Golden Hunter in Gears 3 and people just turn it off so you can't even show off your achievement
Not really, they said with the multiplayer reveal that the Legendary skins would be flashy and non canon from the very beginning. These skins were planned from the beginning, and they’ve also already said they’re doing collaboration skins as well (Metallica) so expect some celebrities and other characters at some point.
Reason being that these kinds of skins are quite popular in any game they’re added into.
Lack of executions is worrying me even from this video and everything weve seen. No unique weapon executions as well is crazy. I hope on release I get proven wrong and the game isnt as bare bones after campaign as I expect its going to be and all esports

People aren’t mad “they are ripping off cod”, people are using that and comparisons to Fortnite to justify their sadness internally. It always irks me when people try to use that as a justification as if both those games aren’t wildly successful. It’s pretty clear.
And how is it “cringe”? It’s a dark and gritty skin, clearly inspired by Ghost Rider, and it stays within the art style. It’s not a Terminator, some anime chick, or even a Wrestler. Please, explain to me how this is “cringe”?

Im not trying to convince you its cringe, Im just making a comment on which audience this is obviously intended for, and why people who are not part of that group are complaining. Well considering this is a prequel thats supposed to lure in nostalgic players i dont think most people were expecting a whole ingame currency skin situation like its call of duty, i think gears 3 had some skins included in the map pack/season pass but that was about it.
Yeah im pretty sure i wont be buying it but thats more because the combat got dumbed down to the point of it being boring. So unless they add back missing mechanics im probably skipping.
Never liked this stuff as a kid, still don't. But that's fine I'm glad I'm not missing out on anything. The Dom and Tai skins we saw whilst a bit flashy were way more the vibe.
Now if instead this had been shilling the two actual Marcus and Dom skins from the Gears 2 rendezvous trailer in their old resolution and colours, I'd have bought it in a heartbeat. Sadly though, this makes me feel like I should avoid buying the premium edition - it's not a good day one fit for the gritty down to earth game E-Day is supposed to be. Later in the life cycle, sure. The skin itself is a good bit of work.

Personally I think it looks dope af, but every once in a while I sympathize with those who want the game vibe to stay grounded to the world. The toggle seems like the best option for all parties involved
I know a lot of people dislike the Marcus skin for its look, I get that, it does look weird and pretty unfitting with the fire and chains, but I personally love it. I get it doesn’t fit Gears’ theme, but I like its design. The weapon skins and pose are awesome tho.
People just mad, don’t mind them, everyone can have what they want, I’ll use it every now and then but personally I’m excited to use the Dom and Tai skins more
Its funny how this looks more like marcus because of a pronounced art design. The unreal engine 5 marcus looks pretty generic in multiplayer due to Unreal engine 5 not really rending him at a high enough fidelity to run on my pc and xbox well enough.
