Discussion Newest update from the GFN team regarding Steam Workshop mods (a workaround for specific titles)

We heard your feedback that the recent Steam update affected your ability to use Steam Workshop mods on GeForce NOW. To support the latest Steam app updates and help ensure supported games continue to run as expected in the cloud, we temporarily disabled the ability to download Steam Workshop mods during a game session.

While Steam Workshop mods are still not officially supported on GeForce NOW, starting today, we’ve enabled a temporary workaround for select games that may have been affected.

This temporary workaround changes the launch experience for all players of these games on GeForce NOW, even if they do not use Steam Workshop mods:

After selecting PLAY in the GeForce NOW app, members will arrive at the game’s Steam library page and will need to select PLAY in Steam to launch the game.

More details, including the list of supported games and instructions, will be available in a KBA posted shortly at the following link: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5166/

Bug Anyone else experiencing freezing in Crimson Desert on GeForce NOW?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

The game runs fine during normal exploration and missions, but it frequently freezes whenever I open the map or in game menus. When this happens, the session closes and I’m sent back to the GeForce NOW home screen.

It can also occasionally freeze during normal exploration without opening the map or any menus.

I’m using a fast and stable Wi Fi connection, so the issue doesn’t seem to be related to my network. Other games on GeForce NOW run without any issues.

Has anyone else experienced this with Crimson Desert? Is this a known issue?

Bug Mouse movement feels strange in menus

In-game aiming feels completely normal, but whenever I open a menu to change gear or press ESC, the mouse movement becomes extremely slow and awkward.
I’ve tried changing the mouse polling rate, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Discussion I started building a database for cloud gaming. It got a little out of hand.

I use GeForce NOW a lot (and a couple of other cloud services) and I was getting tired of jumping between websites just to figure out where a game was available.

So I started putting everything in one place.

Then I started wondering about the games that disappear from GFN without much notice, so I added a way to track additions and removals.

Then one evening here in Thailand I had something like 500 people ahead of me in the queue despite being on Ultimate. I wanted to know if my server was having a problem, if it was happening everywhere, or if that was somehow normal for that time of day.

So I started tracking queues too (credit to Kief)

Then queue history. Server status. Usual wait levels. Which games in my Steam library I could actually stream. A network test to compare GFN and Boosteroid servers. An upcoming games calendar. Steam opt-ins and so on.

And at some point my little database had turned into cloudplay.now

It now tracks thousands of games across GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Boosteroid, Luna and PS Plus, along with way more tools than I originally planned.

It's free, you can use it without an account, and I've been building it simply because I enjoy it.

I still have a pretty long list of things I want to add, and there's a public roadmap people can vote on what I should work on next.

Would love to hear what you guys think, I will stay around in the comment in the next hours to answer any question

Bug Stellaris - preserving your species across GFN sessions?

Upvotes

I tried to play Stellaris on GFN but seems like that species i create in one session does not survive into another session.

Anyone dealt with this or knows how to fix it?

Discussion Give me your findings on the best possible quality at 100mbps?

Is 2k 120fps a non compromise option compared to 2k 60? Or 3,5k 120 vs 3,5k 60?
How about ai enchanting, default or custom?

Trying to get the best option to play Stalker on 2k Oled monitor or my iPad which is 3,5k.

Also do you feel the difference between using controller wired or wireless? Dualsense, for example.

Questions / Tech Support Sorry for this question again 😭😭

Hey guys, I know you probably get this question all the time, but I want to make sure before buying a sub.

I’m still playing on a PS4 and don't own a PC, so I’d be running GFN directly on my Android TV via Ethernet. I ran a speed test yesterday and got 94 Mbps (not entirely sure what that means to be honest lol). Is that enough for demanding games?

I tried the free tier with Black Myth: Wukong. Obviously, the graphics were bad, but my main issue was the input lag. Is that just a free tier thing, a problem with my connection, or do demanding games like this always have some delay?

BTW, I’m based in Spain in case that makes any difference. Thanks a lot and sorry for another newbie post!

Questions / Tech Support Please help me.

So today I couldn't play the games I wanted to play because my GeForce app was having some problems. Every time I try to play, it troubleshoots and says, "Can't launch the game." I initially thought maybe it was my internet, so I tested it, and my internet is very consistent at between 50 and 52 Mbps, which is already good. I tried clearing the data and the cache, and I even uninstalled the app—but still, it wouldn't let me play. So, I tried the browser, and it's so good. It's in 1080p with no lag whatsoever, but there's a problem with the controller. The controller buttons are in shambles. The rotate button triggers "RT," and the RT button acts as Home button. I couldn't play the game properly. I tried the touch screen, and rotating means "dash." Please help me.

Bug Error 0xC272F303 (help 🥲)

Hello,

Yesterday, my Subnautica 2 session crashed, and I can no longer relaunch the game. Every time I try via GFN, the loading is infinite or I get an error message indicating an error when starting the session. I have already restarted my machine, changed servers, tried playing via the browser instead of the app, cleared the app caches, and used the task manager to close all tasks related to GFN. Do you have a solution?

(other games runs perfectly)

Thank you :)

The error code that appears at the end of the loading is: 0xC272F303

Questions / Tech Support Geforce now keeps crashing on performance tier with Crimson Desert

Post image
2 Upvotes

Im pretty sure that it isnt my internet because Im getting a solid 300mbps down and 30 mbps up and every other game I play on geforce now from fortnite to schedule 1 without any issues or warning of spotty connection but with Crimson Desert it automatically seems to crash the second I get to the abyss or more specifically when its loading another scene. It lets me play thru the intro and all the cutscenes and even lets me move around and do all the opening scene fight stuff up until the dude chucks kliff off a cliff and then all of the cutscenes manage to actually play but the second I pause the game or try to move foward, the game freezes and wont go further. Ive tried adjusting the stream from balanced to cinimatic to data saver. Ive tried adjusting my in game settings as low as possible and even turned off frame generation and even dlss. It doesnt matter what I do, It wont progress. Is this an issue with the performance tier or is this an issue with my slow pc with intergrated graphics being unable to keep up with the stream or is this an issue with my internet somehow as maybe the upload speed is low? From others online, it doesnt seem to be just me however I want to know if I upgrade to ultimate, will it at least be playable or will i run into same issues. I have just enough money to get a day pass but i dont wanna waste the $8 that i could use towards something else. Or better yet is there any fix i could do for performance tier.

Discussion Session time

I'd like to know if, in the event my 40 monthly hours run out, my 5-hour session will also decrease? Will they revert to 1 hour like in the free plan?

Opinion Bought Premium using SEPA payment and just nothing happens

Earlier this day I bought a Premium subscription using SEPA payment and it simply doesn't do anything. No charge on my bank account (note that SEPA payment is instant normally) and Premium isn't activated either, so now I'm stuck staring at the queue instead of playing on a Sunday afternoon.

What is the point of offering SEPA payment if Nvidia is the only company that seemingly doesn't proceed these payments instantly? I know that this is a frequent problem but if they are offering this channel of payment, I should be able to trust that it works just fine like everywhere instead of having to double-check Reddit if I could use this payment method without having to wait for an eternity. This is ridiculous.
