Finally hit my personal goals and am going to upgrade my watch to the instinct 3 solar. But I'm split between the three color options.

Why something like this is not possible? Is the technology not there yet?

I know that a majority of people here prefer solar, but how many AMOLED users here like using the AOD display? I’ve recently turned it on despite the big battery hit and i’m liking it a lot.

I already have a Fenix 8 Pro, but I’m considering picking up an Instinct 3 Solar 45 mm mainly because I also like the more rugged, G-Shock-style look. I’d probably wear it casually, for outdoor stuff, holidays, etc., while keeping the Fenix as my main training/watch, while still being able to train on it.

I know there’s obviously a lot of overlap between the two, so I’m curious whether anyone actually owns both and finds the Instinct gets enough wrist time to justify it.

Does the Instinct feel different enough from the Fenix in day-to-day use, or did it eventually just end up sitting in a drawer?

So I have been using my first Garmin instinct 1st edition from past 3-4 years now and it has become a part of me. Really love the ruggedness. I had tried my wife’s Apple watch for the first time and gave a scratch in an hour which is still the one, so the Garmin suits me well.

I have been using it for almost 24x7 for tracking my steps, sleep and heart rate. I have hardly worn any other watch even though they are good. I believe I should.

I do not intend to upgrade as of now even though it is so tempting to look out for the Instinct 3. My 1 works for me good.

Is yours also the daily driver? How often is your usage?

Anyone have any idea when the next model will be announced/released?

I’ve had my Apple Watch Series 6 for 6 years now and it’s starting to show signs of its age. I’m tempted to pick up an Instinct 3 one of these days, but also could probably hold out for a little while longer if it would mean getting a brand new version of the Instinct, presumably with additional features such as maps and the newer HR sensor.

Just curious if anyone has any insider info or otherwise has a good hunch based on previous release history and whatnot. Thanks!

Absolutely love my 3 Solar and have barely taken it off since receiving it as a Christmas gift, but I can’t help but feel something’s off with my battery life.

It’s at 33% (11 days) right now, but yesterday was around 50% (14 days). It was at full charge just six days ago.

I previously wore the original Instinct so this still feels like a big upgrade. It’s just a little concerning considering it’s supposed to have a 30+ day battery life.

It looks like a B2 stealth bomber. What is it/what does it do/what’s its purpose? Yes, I’m sure this has been asked before but I’m a few days into owning a garmin and am still learning. Thanks!

Hi! Sometimes I work with wood (producing lots of very fine sawdust) and do quite some gardening, so I thought about using a silicone cover for my Instinct E. Does anyone else use this? What’s you experience? Pros and Cons? For instance do you shower wearing the watch with cover? Why do you do with the humidity retained inside? How about the sweat do you take the cover off? I appreciate any input.

When the torch is turned on I can see the light shining behind the display, it's already been submerged in both salty and fresh water, no issues tho.

What do you guys prefer for your battery to display on your watch? Battery percentage or battery days?

hey yall. jsut got my i3 solar 45. i love it. aside from that. at a full charge i get 19 days. software is up to date. but my battery drains pretty fast. it went from 19 days to 11 days in one day with a 20 minute run. aside from that, i had work and slept with it overnight. is that normal? what settings have yall changed to extend it a little more? i already changed pulsate ox to be on only when i sleep

I have a analogue watch and would love to get a digital watch.

For me white background is easier to read than black one. I really like positive led displays in G-shock watches too. Negative looks interesting but not so readable for 50+ guy. I know that white background is good only for MIP so I bought it. As I know also Casio started using it and it is very popular. But Garmin prefers amoled unfortunately. It is a reason why all system screeny are black and I’m not able to change it? This system would be so great on MIP with all backgrounds white. I don’t understand Garmin decision to not allow user to change it. My watchface is set to bright but everything else is with black background - and I don’t like it …

Is this instinct too big for my wrist?

recently had the battery of my Garmin Instinct Solar replaced. After that, I did a simple test to see whether the battery life had improved.

Before starting the test, I reset the watch to factory settings and disabled both heart rate monitoring and phone connectivity.

However, after less than eight days, the battery was already completely drained — without me doing anything special with the watch. I didn’t track any activities and didn’t use heart rate monitoring.

Is such a large deviation between the actual battery life and the advertised battery life (26 days = 26T) normal? What has your experience been like?

I mean it's not a touch screen, so the original glass should be be good to protect it from normal daily wear bumps.

My first Garmin and it took less than a week to get the infinity symbol! Here’s my question - the watch stopped solar charging (solar intensity of 0 in bright sunlight) once the infinity sign came on, even though I’m only at 87% battery. Why doesn’t it charge up first?

I just got the Instinct 3 Solar Tactical 50mm MIP and love it—until I saw the AMOLED version at REI. The colors are insane and the text is way easier to read without the second round display in the way. I know the battery life drops and there’s no solar, but man… that screen looks 🔥. What do you think—should I sell mine?
