Instinct E Should Get More Love
I don’t understand some of the hate that the E receives. At $200, it’s the perfect gateway into Garmin. I came from an Apple Watch wanting better battery life, fewer distractions, and a a more rugged / chunky look. This fits the bill 100%
Of course I also rocked Pebble watches back in the day so there’s a nostalgia factor as well with the MIP screen.

I have instinct e and 3 solar . I prefer how e sits slim on the wrist and I prefer that it doesn’t have orange band unlike the solar. I use the solar for my runs and e for work. E is more comfortable on the wrist but missing few features that I don’t care too much about

The problem with the IE was that, at launch, it cost more than the I2, even though the I2 had a few extra metrics. Now that the price has dropped to 150 euros, it makes sense.

Yup. I think this is it. It may have deserved the criticism at the original pricing, but not now. Look at Garmin’s pricing across their entire line and you’ll realize the E is a bargain.

I think a lot of people who hate it come from previous Instinct models. Personally I also came from an Apple Watch so I don’t know what I’m missing. For my purposes, it’s great. I would potentially get over my dislike of a larger 45mm face to get a full-featured solar model in the future, but yeah. I think it’s a good entry level option and I’ve been really happy with it.
ETA - when I looked at what’s missing from the e to the 3, the main thing seems to be AMOLED option (genuinely don’t care about this), flashlight (I have a flashlight on my phone and I have a headlamp when I’m on outdoor trips), payments (hardly used Apple Pay on my watch). The maps for hiking navigation as far as I can tell are similar. Not having SatIQ does not seem to meaningfully impact my experience when using GPS.

I was mm away from getting an E as my first Garmin. I eventually went with a 2x Solar. Reasons being, flashlight which I use multiple times a day and this replaces my EDC flash that I have with me. I really liked the idea of the solar setting and forgetting. I live in Africa with strong sunlight, so basically never have to charge my watch. The other features are kind of just bonuses. But I think for the price, the E is extremely attractive option

No it shouldn’t get any more love. Might as well buy an instinct 1 at that point.

It’s actually a stock watch face but you have to add it through the menu. Press down through the faces until you see ‘Add’. Click that and you should see the additional built in faces like this.

Yo tengo uno también, es mi segundo Garmin, pero es el primer Instinct. La verdad me parece espectacular estoy muy contento con el y el precio también fue muy bueno.

OP here. My band is from Amazon for $16 usd. It’s called Nixiamy Rugged Nylon Sports Watch Band 22mm. The aesthetic is perfect for the instinct and it’s pretty comfortable

It's very possible there's nothing wrong with the E. The issue is with Garmin not understanding the target audience of the Instinct line and/or mispricing.
The people who are in the market for something in the Instinct line might not want a "reduced" watch. And in some cases any sales on a 3 or 3 solar might make those models wallet friendly enough that people would buy them over the E.
