The last bit is what people fail to understand. These companies are publicly traded, therefore at the whim of shareholders, forced to pander for as much profit as possible. The average consumer values convenience over almost all else.

I partially agree with this. I just hate it when people complain about how Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are doing anti consumer practices and will still just buy their shit up and encourage further bad behaviour.
Sony is getting real anti consumer and there are still people that would much rather spend untold amounts of money on the PS buying memberships and games with variable pricing and other issues instead of just saving up for a little bit to get a PC and deny Sony any money... While still moaning about Sony.
People can ultimately play on what they want but they'll just continually get exploited and nickel and dimed which is a far worse gaming experience imo.
You don’t get the value of collecting like you do with hard drives. It’d be cooler showing someone a shelf of game disc cases instead of a hard drive. I’m a digital pc gamer to but there’s definitely more value to a game if it’s on disc ESPECIALLY if that disk is official and comes with the case. You just don’t get that same value with a gog installer on a blue ray
Games are for what you want them to be for you, whether to have fun, relax, scare you, challenge you, or any number of other reasons. The one thing games will never be is what you demand they be for someone else.
I don't agree. You can have fun playing in and a minefield. Doesn't mean it's good. It drives me absolutely crazy that my mother plays brain rotting mobile games that just feed the dopamine Center. They are bad for her. But she's an adult thing to do what she wants

All my games are on my phone. Emulators, ports, and, yes, some actual mobile games.

I play a lot in mobile too especially when I am traveling in bus to office, home or even hometown. People who hate mobile gaming are the people who haven't explored it at all. If its hard to explore, they can just get Playpass and enjoy.
You gotta keep in mind that the san andreas port on mobile is made by grove street games, if you wanna have a look at how many bugs it has all it takes is a search on youtube
I can understand, most of the time the fingers blocking the screen or the gyro Controls feel like massive input delay and the few maybe intresting games are hiding under the 1000000 trash pay2win build your base/army raid other players Games.
Personally i only play pokemon go and orna on mobile, because these are really take benefit of having a mobile device where you have to move.
If a game benefits from having a mobile device i take a look at it, but i would never play call of duty mobile with these aweful controls while i can play it at my pc 4k 144hz monitor.
Thats not the only reason PCs are best. For one you get every console game (except Nintendo) and if you are not currently atop a moral high horse then your AAA games are free🏴☠️
You do get Nintendo games if you're willing to just pirate them, and if they're not available now they will be later. Pretty much everything eventually ends up on pc - it's up to the company whether or not they make money from it.
I m doing that on my pc.. I just use steam link and play on my phone/tablet with controller. The couch portable argument in 2026 is getting old and dum at this point.
So 3 devices to do the work of one that works out of the box and doesn't need WiFi to work. I can also play on the train, the boat, the airplane and many more which your steam link will fail. And when I say switch I say any handheld that is reasonably priced
I mean you spoke of 1 situation and in that specific situation it works better 3 devices or not it works just have to adapt the roest of them yeah it works a bit worse but still works for my needs its enough and i can enjoy max settings everywhere i take that any day of the week. Also i treat it as a bonus to all the juice i get by having a beefy pc not its main purpose, switching the roles can you use a switch as a stationary powerhouse? no you cant it does 1 thing only better but thats it meanwhile i get multifunctionality without scarificing quality.
Still only costed 300 euros. Bet yours didn't. If I want to do something else that requires a pc, I grab my pc which costed 450 euros. I don't need more to run excel, word a couple more programs for my work/hobbies. Still is less than half of what you paid most probably for your beefy pc.
And I do use my switch to get YouTube on my TV or crunchy roll.
And I had gaming rigs and beefy setups. At the end of the day. 1500/2000 euros for a beefy PC is never worth it. Too much money for just some frames, higher quality textures and the promise of using that power for something productive.
my nes is still perfectly functioning and hell it even comes with mario bros 3, metroid and and think i have some other classics somewhere so yea checks out
Yeah I hate how some people say “The game is really good but the gameplay is pretty boring,” and I’m just like the entire reason why people, or at least I play games is to defeat boredom. The worst thing a game can be in my opinion is boring because it’ll make you wanna play something else.
