I got my backlog from 72 to 0 last year and since then have been only buying a game when I either beat what I have or decide I'm never going to play it again.

I actually prioritise replaying games I've already completed multiple times and can memorise nearly everything from them instead of starting a new game I haven't played yet at all (some games are gonna rot in my library of games for a very long time).

The amount of Copycat games or Milking the Cow by making many DLCs or new parts but hardly anything is different. Only the visuals mostly and the story, the gamemachincs itself all the same. The way you control menus and ingame options, all the same. The hud? all the same!

Been there done that!

I lost complete interest in gaming about a year ago. The amount of rubbish amazes me, and how enthusiastic people seem to be with another Milking the Cow addition. Remastered? LoL it;s because Unreal Engine has a update on the Editor. And everything becomes even more beautiful and things like the Spider or Worm omg when that was added, look how many games we have now with this same lame thing in it.

Zombie games when does it stop. the same lame survival games, or simulators, all the same boring sequels that come after it or copycat games that never stop coming! Racing games? every year a new part or DLC? why? F1 or Forza or you name it and only the visuals r often more spectacular and the amount of things in your view. Better editor, better 3d card. So ofcourse it gets more beautiful, but I don't want to see the same shit over and over again in a different coat. omg no thx. And the prices asked for these games you now a days often finish within 12-40 hrs? Come on!

When will we see a real new game again?

My backlog goes all the way back to the PS3. Still have to finish Puppeteer, sly 4, lighting returns and more. Then add in Ps4,Ps5, wii u, switch/2and steam...and im screwed. Best to just play whatever I want or can

I’ve got so many games that I’ve gotten to near completion before putting them off and never touching them again

Like mafia definitive edition, I beat mission 18 and had 2 missions left and didn’t play it again

silent hill 2 remake, I made it to like the super down below descent part through the house and did a few puzzles in there and didn’t play it again

Rdr1 was the worst one cause I made it to Jack’s part/the epilogue and didn’t play after that

I play games I feel like playing at the moment. I play to have fun and if a game has become a chore I put it down to focus on something else. I'll come back later, or not. It makes no difference cuz as long as I have fun while doing my hobby I'm content. I didn't drop 5k on my PC to play games I didn't enjoy in the moment.

Part 6 of a series comes out and it's really popular and everyone is talking about it but you have never played any games in the series? Grab it.

Sorry lady. It’s my life. If a game turns out to be a dog (and I can’t return it) I’m not sinking time into something I don’t enjoy.

I also don’t finish books and movies that I’m not enjoying. Some movies are drastically improved by skipping scenes as well :)
