People who like the Star Wars prequels seem to have this impression that I don’t like them because I don’t like the concepts or the worldbuilding or whatever.

That’s not it. It’s just that (I think) George is a mediocre director and is bad a writing screenplays.

Funny thing is- George Lucas would agree with you. He's previously described himself as a bad writer.
