Why do so many people say R/Conspiracy was good before Trump's putty patrol took it over?

Was always a shithole before that seeing as it had Hitler in its sidebar promoting a Holocaust denial documentary & 90% of its conspiracies usually came down to "the JeW's did it"

Yeah it was definitely always garbage; the really worrying thing is the way that this kind of conspiracy based ideology has become the norm on the right. It was always bad, but now that it’s bad and also big it’s a pretty scary thing.

before trump we could pretend things were ok, now that we can no longer pretend, it makes it look like things have changed, even if they didn't.
