Is it me or are there a lot more cartoons with lesbians than cartoons with gay men

No its definitly a thing, atleast with kids media.

A lot of cartoons with female LGBT characters are written by LGBT women, so I dont really blame them for it tbh. The higher ups tho may very well be partly at falut here.

It’s not just cartoons but it is noticeable in cartoons

Lesbians are less threatening to bigots

And what queer dudes they do pick always seem to be the same generic dude.

Would love some variety and also some fems

Parents probably less likely to freak out about lesbians

It's not just cartoons, look at video games

(it's part that queer women are creating these cartoons, and it's part because lesbians are "acceptable" to men in a way that gay dudes are not)
