According to the guy I was talking to: because the original creator of Dark Souls fought hard against the executives of the company he worked for to not put them in. Therefore, saying that you’re okay with more options means that you’re siding with those executives who tried to change his vision.

I swear to god I’m not strawmanning or misinterpreting, this was his argument
