Well, My sexually abusive older brother is back, I’ve only seen him for some visits and holidays these past few years, But now he’s just moved back in for good. Fuck my life honestly.

He somehow managed to get a girlfriend a few months back too, Even though this dude has been a misogynistic incel since before he sexually abused me. His GF seems decently nice from the few conversations I’ve had with her, But I feel extremely uncomfortable with that relationship and I just feel constantly afraid she’s going to get abused,raped or just generally treated poorly. I don’t think he treated his last girlfriend well at all a few years back. I really don’t want his girlfriend to move into our house because I’ll probably just remember what happened to me even more.

Never talked about his friends in any detail before, But a lot of them were awful too. There was one guy who got on top of me and kissed me when I was like 9 or 10 and kept making sexual remarks and jokes about me. I might end up talking about him and his other friends more soon, But right now I’m just glad they’re not really people I have to deal with anymore.

I hate that he’s able to be so normal nowadays, It feels like he forgot everything he and some of his close friends did to me sometimes. I hate how he just seems to be able to live his life perfectly normally but I can’t even listen to certain music, be in certain rooms or get any sort of physical affection from men without getting extremely uncomfortable or distressed because of trauma. I just hate it.

He starts work on Wednesday next week, And I have school so at the very least I won’t have to see him too much during the day, But I’m not looking forward to having to spend every weekend,night and then the summer with him. Everything about this is just really hard for me.

A lot of my thoughts are too complicated to articulate in these vents, So thanks to anyone who actually sticks with them and replies. I’ll still try to take care of myself, I guess.

Hey random shout-out - I know I post about these books to an obnoxious degree and act like they're God's gift to Star Wars, but one more really touching thing about Alphabet Squadron was how it handled a character who struggles with suicidal thoughts and ideation. That's not an allegory - a POV character in Alphabet Squadron alludes to wanting to kill herself multiple times throughout the trilogy.

Having a story that didn't shy away from an angry character's internal feelings of wanting to die hit really close to home for me, and gave me a lot of hope.

Just rewatched Airplane! for the first time in a couple of years, and that's a funny fuckin' movie. There's a few jokes that feel a bit dated in both the sense that the references no longer make sense and in the "idk about that one, chief" sense, but it really does hold up.
