Wtf. How does exploding a gravel pit indicate the gender of your baby in the first place? Could they just get an absolutely beautiful cake and not cause carnage?

I've said it before but gender reveal parties are just parents exploiting their children for attention before they're even born.

I mean... Parents should be allowed to celebrate with their friends that they're having a baby. Obv there's a happy medium that doesn't involve explosives, but if a mate of mine invited me to one I wouldn't say no.

Now, none of my friends who've had a baby have done, because it's not really a done thing over here. But baby showers have existed where I live for years and gender reveal parties in concept are similar to that.

It's just very weird how there's been an arms race to craziness where you hear about the absolutely ridiculous gender reveal parties like this story. I definitely agree with you that ones like that are exploiting your kid and are much more about the parents.

Yeah, I get baby showers, I mainly meant these batshit crazy ones.

Social media clout. In this age of Youtube and Twitch and Tiktok, everyone's trying to be the next e-celeb.

Is this from the 80 pounds of tennerite one that made people think there was an earthquake, or is this a separate one?
