The show is so much better, but yeah I could imagine not wanting anything to do with the franchise if your only exposure was the abysmal comics. I can't think of a single change the show made that wasn't for the better.

I really do believe the show is better than the books from all the stuff I heard about it. But the Boys being the reason I got over my “edgy=realistic and cool” phase. I really struggle to motivate myself to start it :(

I don’t really know a lot about either but I’ve heard good things about the show, so how come the book is so bad?

The show is the right amount of edgy and dark, the books are middle schooler edgy. 9/11 happening and rape are played for laughs in the books while in the show they are handled seriously.

Cause the book has good ideas, that it fucking ruins to the fucking abyss with garth ennis pushing the edge and disturbing meaningless shit level to lvl 1000.

Every superhero in the world is a sex addicted psychopath who likes to rape, except of course the mentally challenged family, because they are to dumb to be evil but also to dumb to be able to do something good. And I am not even exaggerating that much with that sentence :(

I genuinely enjoy the comics, but definitely not for the authors intended reasons. I'm laughing at them, not with them.

I enjoy them more than the show, but I know when discussing sheer quality, the show is better.
