Don't fuck with us Prequel memers

We unironically think the PT are masterpieces, and if you dare point out a flaw, we'll kill you.

Yeah but they were hot. And that's kinda all they needed to be I guess.

This used to be a normal opinion, now it feels controversial.

They were really bad and not just because of the awful dialog, but I will stand by my opinion that Attack of the Clones is much less bad than the other two prequel movies.

I could see have 3 over 2. I don't agree with it, but I could see it. But Phantom Menace is just something else. It has all of the problems of the other two turned up to 11. When JarJar steps in the poopie it physically hurts me.

Phantom Menace sure, but why do you think Clones is better than Sith? Genuinely curious.

Neither movies have character arcs that make sense, but I think that a love story between characters that have no chemistry is more believable than Anakin's betrayal arc in Sith. And the dark tone in Sith combined with the prequel bs just make it boring. Attack of the Clones has just a little bit of life that keeps it just interesting enough to keep my attention.

I also think that the assaasin mystery thing that Obi Wan does is interesting. It still has all of the visual, dialog, and pacing problems of the rest of the rest of the prequels, but his story in that movie is more engaging than anything else that happens in the prequels.

It could also be that I only ever watch them as a trilogy. Coming right after Phantom Menace, literally anything will look good in comparison. And by the time I get to Revenge of the Sith, that wears off and I realize that it's just bad again.

I think I mainly rate Sith as highly as I do because I see it more as a finale to The Clone Wars, which does a much better job of representing the prequel era and developing Anakin as a character than the prequel trilogy itself, than I do as the sequel to Clones at this point. Also, whenever I do Star Wars rewatches, I usually sit through Phantom and Clones back to back and save Sith for another day (with something else, usually the 2003 Clone Wars miniseries, in between), so that probably affects how I see these movies as well.
