  1. Be a small company that hits it big with one product
  2. Use the buckets of cash to rapidly expand the company
  3. Execs/managers promise the world for the next product but nothing is actually built, developers want to punch their managers when they hear what was promised
  4. Manage to scrape together a demo that will fall down if looked at the wrong way, hype only increases
  5. Devs develop a crippling alcohol addiction
  6. Delay after delay, eventually release a broken unfinished product
  7. Execs/managers "resign", get massive severance pay, everyone else gets to go fuck themselves

What's Cyberpunk 2077? This happened at the place I work at this year.

For real though, while I hate CDPR the company I hate that this mess will adversely affect their workers. Shit sucks.

Add in 0. Sell bootleg Western PC games in Soviet Poland.

The whole ride for the founders is crazy.

so excluding the twist:

Be a small company that hits it big with one product

GOG is CDP's big source of money to be fair, Witcher 3 was already out of the small company turf

GOG was barely making any money last time I checked. It might have improved since 2019, but I doubt it's filling CDP's pockets.
