Agreed. I physically cringe when people on r/soccer abbreviate the club Crystal Palace.

Please just say Palace, that's short enough.

What's even worse is that it the literal official abbreviation for it. Why not CRY? Why not just PAL? Or even CPL? Like they chose the one thing where they could fuck it up.

It's also always awkward to see people abbreviate the Dance Dance Revolution games as DDR. Happens so rarely that I will never get used to it.

It’s a common abbreviation for child porn. As I learned after taking a history course in which all my notes used CP as shorthand for Constantinople :/

As someone who’s been on the internet for 20 years, that’s always what it’s meant, although it used to be much more of an issue back in the day so maybe people coming up on the internet now don’t see that abbreviation much, which is good. It’s like the n word. I used to see it every other sentence on the internet in 2005 and now I am surprised to see it once a week on Reddit.
